I created a new hero but need a code name.

He is 6'4, Half Mexican, half Navajo.  Glowing red eyes, white hair.

He can fly and has an energy blast.{colour Red}
Energy is mostly concussive.

Flight:
1/2 Mach (in atmosphere){for now, theorized top speed to Mach 2}
unknown out of atmosphere
(Space flight is capable and can get to the moon in less than a day.
Can open hyperspace windows for extreme long range space flight)
No visable Aura while flying.

Any suggestions on what I could call him?

Thanks in advanced

Knowing a little about the indigenous people of northern Mexico such as the Mayo and the Yaqui you could call him Taa'a Takaa (kind of like Clark Kent is also Kael El in his alien language) which means sun man.

For an english name how about Solar Flare, Red Sun, Sol, Red Star, Solar Storm or Awesometastic Dude.

Ok... that last one is because I had written "or" but could not come up with another sun related hero name...

;)

edit: visual inspiration

Pyroclasm

Viaje (Vee-a-he)
Since your description seemed to emphasize travel powers.

Both better than what i came up with.

DinĂ©   (dĭ'ně')
n.  (used with a pl. verb) The Navajo people.

I figured ppl may just call hime Dine or think of food.   :D

Lunarman

Solar Flare mine :P

But since his powers are focused on travel and movement a traditional code name might be something like Marathon or even just Mach, like a joke nick-name.

However I like Pyro's idea a lot/

Looks like you've got some great creative input already.  But I did find this interesting comment on Navajo legend:

"The universe contains two groups of beings: the Earth Surface People, who are ordinary human beings, and the diyin dine', who possess supernatural powers. 'Diyin dine' is usually translated as "Holy People", although a more appropriate translation would be "Supermen" or "Superbeings" because they possess special powers (Griffin-Pierce 1992a:30). The Holy People are never described as being perfect because we aren't perfect either. They teach us to strive for perfection but to be compassionate and patient with ourselves if we fall short (Griffin-Pierce 1992a:31). Illness of the body and mind or other misfortune is the result of deliberately or unwittingly breaking the prescriptions of the Holy People. When such a transgression occurs, harmony and well-being can only be restored by... a ceremonial designed to deal with the particular forces that caused the illness (Griffin-Pierce 1992a:36)."

So, there is plenty of background stuff in Navajo legend that may be source material.  Also, I was thinking of some kind of sun theme as well.  Several of the Native American tribes in the south western US find great significance in the sun as a symbol.  I found one source that said specifically of Navajos and the sun symbol:

"These (sun) symbols are used to record war stories or heroic events. However, they are also related to the sun and directly connected to creation."

Lastly, I did find some interesting stuff from Hopi legend in sun Kachinas.  Kachinas, according to one source, were messengers from the creator to assist the Hopi.  They embodied various aspects of nature (like wind, water, light etc).  This idea may a good fit into your character especially with the Navajo view of the "holy people".

Don't know if the above is useful to you at all.  I don't know what your origin idea for this guy is.  But even if it is science based and not mystical...you could still have the character find significance in his powers through the depth of his Navajo ancestry.  He might even have a Navajo grandfather who could have been a story teller/mentor in his life.  One other thought, even if he is just 1/2 Navajo, I'm pretty sure he would have full access to being a member of the Navajo Nation...which really big!  They have their own government, police, hospitals and stretches across no less than 3 states in the South Western US.  So, looks like you have lots of source material to pull from!
