Hey guys, I just had a "what the heck did I do" moments with the game.   I havn't played the rumble room for a while, so I decided to start up a session (FFX shortcut), and I get this error:

I cant think of anything I could of done to cause this, the only thing I have been playing with is M25's EZfree roam mod, but that is a folder by itself so it shouldnt effect the game, the other latest thing I did was install Electro's "superhero universe Gold" mod, which is just a graphics mod that changes some of the (load)screens and such. But im sure I played the rumble room since installing that.  I really dont want to re-install the entire FFX again since I have made some changes myself with that and I dont want to have to go through it again if I dont have to.  So can anybody tell by looking at this error as to what file I got corrupted or what?

Thanks for any help.

Aw man, something is screwy here, I cant even open my C-tool anymore, I get these errors when trying:

jeeze, this is the first time I screwed up my game, and i'm usually so carefull backing things up and really checking things out before I install them.

I'm hoping its just a couple files somewhere that someone notices, I did back up my entire FFV3R folder about 5 months ago.

I don't know about the CTool problem. I think I might have run into the RR issue before. Does it crash the game to desktop or just stop there and leave the RR menus incomplete? I seem to recall that just starting the RR again (maybe choosing the Game Mode again or something) fixed this.

If there's more to it, you will probably want to post your log files. See the FFX 3.2 bug thread for some guidelines on what to post. Once we have your logs, there is a better shot at figuring out the problem.

The last thing I did was try and do a watch mode rumble room before I quite the game to get this script log, (plus I didnt post all those attribute errors that come in the FF log).

I seem to have lost all sound for the game as well, which is probable a different problem as well.

Previsionary

the sound problem is probably because you toyed in the options menu. It should be easily fixable by looking in the sounds tab.

Ctool: Ctool2 needs a few FFVTTR files before it is operable. If it doesn't see those files, you get those errors. You may need to reinstall as it doesnt seem to be able to see your lang files or some of your dat files.

FFX: It looks like some files were changed, altered, or deleted. You might want to try doing a comparison type thing just to make sure.

Sidenote: I don't recall being able to use some of the minimods without error...but that may just be me misremembering stuff.

stumpy

So, your script.log is blank?

And, as mentioned before, does the game crash overall, or can you, for instance, click on the Game Mode and then get it to play?

Tech note to other FFX folks reading this: I think I encountered this problem at some point in the 3.2 development cycle and it seemed to be related to the order the modules were loading for skirmish play. Either a module wasn't loaded when it needed to be or there was a circularity in the load process. I thought the problem went away after some tweaking in the code that makes some decisions on what to load based on detecting whether the session is a RR or campaign mission.

I haven't seen it since, which makes me wonder if the problem here is that some of those files have been corrupted or overwritten with older versions somehow. If that's the case - and the issues with CTool2 etc. might support that - then the easiest fix may well be a reinstall. Someone else needs to confirm this (and we should have it documented somewhere), but I think all that is needed to save FFX 3.2 customizations when reinstalling 3.2 is to keep a copy of the Missons\Scripts\ffxcustom.py file and put it back after running the installer. Of course, the safer alternative is to make a copy of the whole Missons\Scripts folder for that mod and that should work even if the whole game needs re-installation, which may be the case here.

I didnt post my script log because I didnt see anything usefull in there, all there was was a couple lines of a rumble room that did execute correctly, I could get M25's ez script stories to work but no other rumble room modes, and the game never crashed to the desktop, I go go back and change modes and such , but whenever I went into the rumble room I got those errors, sorry I wasnt to clear on that Stumpy, I wanted to get in a quick reply before I went to work this morning, so I just posted my FF log.

But I did manage to find the problem, after reading Prev's response he mentioned about doing a comparison, so I found my old back up game (that was actually over a year old) and I just went through file by file and folder by folder, and low and behold I found my System folder was completely empty except for one file (ziptree py.) I copied the contents of the old system folder to the empty one, and as far as I can tell all the above problems seem to be taken care of.  Now how and the heck that happened is beyond me.

Thanks for all the input guys, I appreciate it!!  Hopefully that is it for now.

Ouch, I'd like to know how these System\ files got deleted. :(
