I just recently re-installed FFvTTR, with all the bells and whistles from Alex's Freedom Fortress & the 1.3 patch.  I can't get one danger room battle to complete using my custom characters.  I have the custom fx's installed for FFvTTR, but am using created characters (alex's & USAgents), and either of the version of the custom characters & mesh's will cause the crash.  Is there a way to correct this?  Any help will be appreciated...

This is making my creation of my Question voice pack slow down, since I can't get it tested...

*blink* There is no *released* patch for ffvttr. As for hero files/meshes, I'm assuming you have all the correct meshes that go with these herofiles and those meshes show up in the character creator.

The Meshes I'm using are converted from FF using the Nif converter.  The Hero files have also been converted.  The part where it crashes is usually if a character has been knockedback, right as or before they land.

Of course, I'm now wondering why I posted this on a FF thread, as my issue is with FFvTTR... (grumbles at own stupidity)

[I split and renamed the topic so that people browsing who have more experience with FFvT3R might take a look.]

Does the same thing happen if you recruit that custom character into the campaign?

Does the same thing happen if you make a built-in character using one of those meshes?

Are you running FFX 3.2?

Try and give a complete description of what's going on. Is it every custom mesh you use? Give us an example of a character (mention if it is Alex' or USAgents), including his mesh, his attributes, the map you are playing on, and what happens when he is knocked back.

Also, and this may be the biggest help in figuring out what the problem is, post your script.log, possibly part of your ff.log and your ff.err (if it is not empty) from right after one of these crashes. In other words, start the game, go to the RR, wait a second or two for things to initialize, then make the thing happen that crashes the game, then post those files. If they (particularly ff.log) are too long to post, then see this post on how to pick the parts that will help others in diagnosing problems.

Well, it seems to be tied to a Captain Marvel (dc) mesh  Specifically the Captain Marvel DC update.  http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/blackbatsfiles/files/

However, after a reinstall, every mesh except that one seems to be ok.  That mesh doesn't allow me to load it via the character tool (So I converted it last time, but it still crashed). Could this be related to the

Could you give a link for FFX 3.2?  I've tried to get it from the links on Alex's site, but can't find it (as it only references versions 2.+ on the site that it links to).

Also a link to Electro's FX pack would be good...

I wasn't familiar with that particular mesh, but I just tried downloading it and converted it, and it shows up fine in character tool for me. I also ran it through a few rumble room sessions and and had no problems. I would try installing FFX 3.2 and see if that fixes the issue -- you mentioned that you had converted Hero files. Its definitely possible that the hero files you converted had some specific attributes or powers that were causing things to go all wacky if you didn't have the 3.2 version installed.

Thanks for your help.  The uninstall-reinstall worked for me.  I've got the FFx 3.2 now, and am goofing on it.  I don't know what was causing the issue, but it seems to be fixed.
