Neuromancer is the movie that should have been done instead of Johnny Mnemonic, but I believe the rights were tied up at the time and considering how bad that movie was, I'm glad it wasn't made.

Neuromancer is my favorite cyberpunk story, but I just can't see him as Case at all. Joaquin Phoenix is too old, or I'd suggest him.....

The main character in neuromancer is an awkward jerk, so I'm not too concerned who plays him. Now... did you notice the director is the guy who did Torque? I had pirate cable in one of my past apartments (nobody knew where it came from, it was there when we got there) so I used to watch anything on the PPV channels just to not waste them. I watched Torque. It was awful. I fear anything put out by that director in the future.

Neuromancer didn't strike me as good or bad imo. Though it is always a sad day when a decent book gets set up for failure on the big screen. Kinda why I hope Snow Crash, heck anything Neal Stephenson, stays a book. Unless HBO wants to do a miniseries. <.<
