Energy Display is wrong

Hello.

I spent last weekend reinstalling FFv3R after a long hiatus.  I installed the game, the toolset, EZFX, CustomForce2 (includes FFX3), and also downloaded and learned to use the hero creator utility and EZNif converter.  Plus a few hundred meshes/skins.  Phew!  :)  I think I also installed FFX3 seperately (latest version).  I have a FFX folder and a Customforce2 folder.  Also installed patriot city.

I also downloaded USAgent's hero files and managed to get a selection of about 50 MU heroes into the game, complete with working meshes, skins, and keyframes.  Got all the animations and FX working for all powers, and tweaked some powers here and there.  I didn't really play them.

So then I started playing some rumble room to test the characters.  I noticed the energy usage was whack.  All powers have a displayed cost 1 less than should be (a 'Medium' power displays 1 purple box and a 'Low power' shows the power as being free, etc).  However, they actually do seem to spend the proper amount of energy, despite the display.

One thing I never did - I didn't run FFX control center before putting in my customs and playing.  I didn't realize until later.  I then ran it, and it scanned the characters, but the energy display is still wrong.

Is there any way to fix it?

Previsionary

there's an option in ffx to turn off "overspend energy".

Yes, that was it.  Thank you!

Now that I understand it, I think it's a nifty kludge to make it more like FF1.
