Has anyone picked up Gemini #1 from Image.  It looks promising!

Here's a preview in case you haven't seen it:  http://www.majorspoilers.com/archives/3893.htm/

It's about a guy whose secret id is so secret he doesn't even know it.  Well, not exactly any how...he doesn't know that he's even a hero.  Intriguing story idea.  And the art is really good.

Wow.  No love for Gemini.  Ok.   :(

I like the art... it has a real dynamic Humberto Ramos/Skottie Young vibe to it. Just not sold on Jay Faerber's writing, though... not that  it's bad or anything, I just haven't enjoyed any of his works that I've read (primarily the Noble Causes stuff), which is more a matter of personal taste than any issues with the quality of his craft.

Insightful point.  I am not real familiar with Faerber's work except with Dyanamo 5.  I picked up the TPB that has like issues 1-7 in it upon the recommendation of a writer from the Dallas Morning News.  Imho, D5 had a good and unique story concept.  But it just didn't do anything with it.  It had so much potential.  But I just didn't feel anything for any of the characters.  The art rocks in the book but...it just lacks oomph in the story.  And as a result I haven't picked up any more copies of it.

Will Gemini be like D5?  Maybe.  It certainly has, again imho, a really good story concept...and of course the fantastic art work.  We'll see.  I think it's a mini-series though.  So, I'll pick up all 5-6 issues...whatever it is (unless they just suck to bad).

Well, it looked interesting.   Thanks for the input!  Anyone else????

Not really had a good chance to look at it but as of right now it seems a bit too early to tell if it is any good. Thus far after looking at Dynamo 5 (not looked much at Noble Causes it just doesn't appeal to me at all). While none of his work is bad, and the art is usually very nice there is nothing about his writing to really make it notable when there is so much else out there. It just comes across as well sort of vanilla at this point. Gemini might pan out better but I'm thinking it might be more of the same, a good solid concept but nothing really done with it to make it really stand out or be noteworthy.

Still Dynamo 5 is a fun read and Gemini looks to be as well, could use a little more I dunno... depth I guess but oh well. As long as I'm enjoying it on some level its still good.

I just read issue #1. It has promise...assuming the last page is not HIS last page

I'll probably give it another issue or 2 to see where it goes.

Dr.Volt

Just saw this....yeah...got a copy of #1 and really enjoyed it.  Sure the writing isn't particularly deep.  But it is fun. And I do like the art work. And I actually found myself sympathizing with Gemini's two personalities not knowing about one another.  And yeah...the ending was shocking!  Wow!  How is Gemimi going to come back out of that situation????  Well, I think I'll continue to pick it up...

For those who might be interested, I just found out that you can read ALL of Gemini #1 here:  http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=158395

It is being done by the producers of Gemini in hopes that it will grow a fan base for the comic.  Iow, it's legal.   :)

Not a big fan of the cartoony art.  But the premise is intriguing enough that I'll give it another issue.
