Hey everybody,

What do you guys do to your for you TMNT hero files so that there's some variety between them?

BaronGrackle

You guys have Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle meshes and skins? Where?!

But, in response to your question, if I were trying to differentiate between these four unique turtles in the original Freedom Force, I'd go about it this way:

All Turtles
*Flesh
*Cold Blooded
*Wall Climbing
*maybe Nimble
*maybe the Tumbling power
*about the speed of Liberty Lad

Leonardo
In every TMNT games, Leonardo is the most "balanced" character. This sometimes makes him one of the worst choices. However, based on what I've seen in every TMNT depiction, I'd make Leo just slightly more costly than the other turtles.

*Disciplined
*Grim Resolve
*basic attack that does piercing damage
*"balanced" attacks; powerful and swift
*a Rally the Troops power
*maybe a powerful active defense against melee crushing/piercing

Donatello
In most games, Donatello has range and power, sacrificing speed/agility. Unfortunately, Freedom Force does not have a factor for melee attack range.

*Level Headed
*basic attack that does crushing damage
*more attacks with large arcs - 180 and 360 degree attacks
*at least one grenade attack; maybe a stun grenade
*less swift attacks, but with more knockback
*Is there a power that heals acid burn or rad emission on other allies? If so, it's Don's.
*if making a campaign, give Don the "does machines" roles (defusing the nuclear bomb, etc.)
*maybe an active defense against something exotic, like electricity or radiation

Raphael
Raph and Mike are the ones with less weapon range; in most games, one of these two turtles is the fastest, while the other is the strongest. I'd prefer to make Raph the strongest, based on his standard-angry persona instead of his '80s Seinfeld persona.

*Hot Tempered
*Tough Guy
*maybe Shake it off
*basic attack that does piercing damage
*powerful and swift attacks; maybe sacrifice his own agility
*strongest turtle (let him throw dumpsters, but probably not cars)
*a Blind Justice power

Michaelangelo Michelangelo TURTLE TITAN
Again, the games have Mike as the quickest or the most powerful character. I prefer quickest; this guy's a party dude! Mikey is said to be the turtle with the most unfocused potential, AND he's the one who's really into comic books! In fact, if you want Ninja Turtles but you still want to keep the feel of Freedom Force, all we need is a Turtle Titan skin! Takers?

*Energetic
*Heroic (the Fabulous TURTLE TITAN!)
*basic attack that does crushing damage
*swiftest attacks, with less damage but higher stun potential
*more connections in his attacks than other turtles', if possible
*highest agility of the turtles
*a Schoolyard Taunt power

That's my very rough take on them, anyway.

Okay! I bought  :ffvstr: and have made some hero files for the Ninja Turtles. Maybe this will help give a little diversity to the bunch.

All turtles are 6000 points or under, so they're multiplayer friendly. They likely won't do well in multiplayer because they have a variety of attacks instead of a few powerful ones. For campaign or stronger character play, the powers can be boosted up to be more effective, and of course other powers can be added. Turtle fans, let me know what recommendations you have!

In campaign modes, the turtles should all eventually become Wall Climbers.

Leonardo (6000 points)
When a canister of Energy X crashed into Patriot City's sewers, the lives of four young turtles and an elder rat were changed forever. Leonardo is the eldest and most mature of his brothers. He is a powerful warrior and master tactician. Dedicated to perfecting the art of Ninjitsu and the way of Bushido, Leonardo leads the turtles into battle against evil with honor and strength.

Donatello (5978 points)
When a canister of Energy X crashed into Patriot City's sewers, the lives of four young turtles and an elder rat were changed forever. Donatello is the most reserved and intelligent of his brothers. He is fascinated by this "Energy X" substance that gave them new life and obsessed with discovering its secrets and scientific potential. Donatello is convinced that technology, not any sort of superpower, is the way of the future.

Michelangelo (6000 points)
When a canister of Energy X crashed into Patriot City's sewers, the lives of four young turtles and an elder rat were changed forever. Michelangelo is more outgoing, energetic, and--sometimes--immature than his brothers. Michelangelo tires of the secret lives he and and brothers live, and he wants to do more good in the world. He is the only turtle who has actively tried to become a member of Freedom Force.

Range: Long
Accuracy: High
Animation: Ranged_1
Special Effect: FX Blackjack Tanglewire
Note: Taken from Mikey's alter ego, Turtle Titan, who in the new series used a grappling hook as an homage to British versions (and later all versions) of the '80s Michelangelo, who had a grappler instead of nunchukus. It is Density Max because (1) I hate the idea of stasis weapons doing mystical damage, and  In the Flash Forward episode titled "Clash of the Turtle Titans", Michelangelo gets in a scuffle with a different "Turtle Titan" who flies, and Mikey manages to "level the playing field" by taking the flier to the ground. It wasn't done with his grappler, but still...

Cowabunga Kick (3)
Melee
Damage Type: Crushing
Magnitude: Very High
EP Cost: High
Stun: None
Knockback: Medium
Swiftness: Very Fast
Arc: No arc
+ Knockback self
Animation: Melee 1
Special Effect: FX Pan Kick
Note: For some reason, Mikey won't be knocked back when he uses this attack, though I'd really like him to. Right now, I feel like I'm accidentally using an exploit.

Whirling Nunchuku (3)
Passive Defense
Damage Blocked: Piercing
Attacks Blocked: Ranged
Block Type: Deflect
Success Rating: Almost Always
Animation: Melee 3 B
Special Effect: None
Note: Revenant made those nunchukus whirl, so put them to good use! Mikey blocks several shuriken in the '80s intro, and he has the ability to block shuriken and arrows in video games based on the new series.
Raphael (5966 points)
When a canister of Energy X crashed into Patriot City's sewers, the lives of four young turtles and an elder rat were changed forever. Raphael is physically stronger than his brothers and more prone to lose his temper. He has a raw power that his master has been trying to focus in him for years. Above all, Raphael has a heightened sense of justice, and he would give all he has to defend his family.

Note: Taken, of course, from his TMNT movie alter ego. Unfortunately, it won't blind an allied Casey. I just wanted to make the range short, as it kept blinding Raph himself when I didn't make it "enemies only".

Damage Type: Crushing
Magnitude: Very High
EP Cost: Medium
Stun: None
Knockback: Low
Swiftness: Fast
Arc: No arc
Animation: Melee 1 (there are two labeled this way; use the kicking animation)
Special Effect: FX Pan Kick
Casey Jones (6000 points)

This version of Casey Jones is way too powerful, but he was the first Turtles character I made, and I got really excited when he landed at exactly 6000 points. A more appropriate Casey would probably be the multiplayer version of the Thug with Bat.

However, this Casey is really fun to play/watch because he does a lot of collateral damage. When you get him to attack thugs in narrow alleyways, there's a good chance that part of a building will go down. My favorite moment was watching him go Berserk, and then do an Overpowered attack against a stoplight. That much, at least, fits Casey. Alternatively, you can use these stats for a 6000 point Bat Thug.

Damage Type: Density Max
Magnitude: Medium
EP Cost: Low
Stun: None
Knockback: None
Range: Short
Animation: Ranged 1

Note: Yeah, no way he deserves this power. I just like to play with him alone sometimes, and its nice to have a way to fight back against fliers.

Foot Soldier (2832 points)

A minion based on the '80s robots, instead of every other version of the Turtles. It'd be easy enough to modify this to be a human ninja. This version is vulnerable to nearly any attack, as the turtles were able to tear through them quite easily if I recall.

If you have FFX 3, there's even more you can do with these guys. Set Casey as the Private Army to one of the turtles (I use Raph); you'll have to give him duplicates of the same attack or high-costing empty attributes (like private army, since it won't work for him) to bring his cost over 10,000.

I've also created a "Foot Leader" who has a Personal Army 3 of the standard Foot Soldiers. I then placed him as the Nemesis to all four turtles, so that swarms of foots soldiers would show up when any of the turtles went on a mission. Unfortunately, last time I tried it, the foot soldiers who appeared wouldn't attack my characters. Ah well.

nice work!
i like how you've incorporated them into the FF history.

good ideas there, if you want to give casey some more "normal" powers  or a reason for the penalty power to work,
what i do is use the tennis ball or baseball fx from tommyboys site, and give him a ranged attack.  usually i make it a small crushing, high stun attack,  like when someone gets hit in the head with a baseball - prolly wont kill him, but he'll go down fast.
