Uncle Yuan

Is there a good basic guide out there fro creating a hero file?  I've never done anything like this, but I would really like to to try and make an Uncle Yuan for the game.  If not, anyone willing to walk me through the process?

Alex had some good tips way back when on the subject.  The most important thing to remember is how *you* want it to look on your system.  Figure out where you want your baseline for upper and lower limits of abilities (who is the strongest you want the system to represent?  the fastest?  etc.  what are "normal" stats?).  I prefer mine to be somewhat balanced towards the built-ins, so that I can run lots of stuff in the Danger Room, without the thugs and ants & such being too wimpy.  In the end, the only one that has to be happy with how he turns out is you.

That is a nice little guide, with some great advice.  But what I really need help with is the technical side of things - how to get a mesh and a skin, how to design the powers (what do the different magnitudes and times mean), choosing the proper effects, getting a voice pack, etc.

edit: I was poking around that site and found some good FAQs.  It's a start!

...how to get a mesh and a skin...

Send me a pic or two of your avatar, or maybe a description, and I'll see what I can come up with, if you'd like.

Take two (they're small) of my initial attempt (done months ago ) to create UY:

Obviously, this is nowhere near ready.  I want to create a long, braided goatee and 'skope it onto this male_basic_staff + tom_versatile parts, and, clearly, this skin is only a placeholder.  The pants and jacket will be worn and ragged, the hair will be greyish-white, etc. (Try to picture it in your mind.)

Wow!  That's pretty cool!  Your plan sounds great, but one question/request* - would it possible to make the staff about shoulder high instead of bo-staff length?  Actually, something the length (and diameter) of Minute Man's stick thingie would be perfect.

(*made with absolutely NO knowledge of how difficult what I am asking might be)
