Meanwhile, four years later ...

AncientSpirit, my firstborn toon and namesake, FINALLY reached 50 last year.

His was a sad, sad story.   Born in the days before they nerfed Burn, he stood like a flaming god before men.   And then ... poor AS ... a candle flickering in the wind ... cut short in the prime of his toonish life...

Then, adding shame to his fallen star, he was booted out of Freedom Reborm ... his first SG ... his white beard yellowing with inactivity dust ....

Then a hand was extended ... a new SG ... No Remorse Force ... "inactivity, we don't care"  ... "Not a good player, we don't care" ...  "refuse to play in SG mode, OK NOW WE CARE!"   :P

So newly inducted into the NRF, AS came and went trying to find his place in the Super Hero World.  He watched on in neglect and disgust as his alts appeared and leveled to 50 while he continued to languish:  SolarEnergy Man,  Fantastic Torch, Super X Girlfriend, The Blades of Zorro ...

AS wept into his beard as Zorro went from 0 - 50 almost overnight while he, poor AS, languished 4 long years. 

And then ... Zorro was done and the alts where again turned to ... American Miss, Child of Vulcan and AncientSpirit all resting at 35 ... and the race was on.

Child of Vulcan took the lead and got to 45 or 46,  American Miss got to 42 ... and then AncientSpirit had his turn at bat.   He wanted the new Roman outfit and hooked up with others from the No Remorse Force and went on to claim his armor... steadily creeping to his goal.

And then, unexpectedly, he PINGED his final PING.   No IOs, No Hamidons.   Just green SOs that finally turned white again ...

Thank you, AncientSpirit, for never giving up on yourself ....

You are a light for other underachievers ... saying inch your way forward ... you CAN reach your goals, little turtle ... march on, march on ...
