Pennies for Pillars

Howdy guys, I've got a rather unusual question for the mod experienced around here.  I'm trying to give my final JLA mission an epic quality on par with the origin episode of the show, so I planned to have the final battle be one in which you have to destroy pillars in order to let in the sun.  Yes, this is just copying Shadow's level from FF1, and I don't have a problem with that, ^_^  The problem is, I want to use those nice big pillars, but the data path that their FFEdit entries show doesn't exist!  FFEdit claims the .nif file resides at: library\areaspeciff1\city\little_italy_objects\bank_pillar\bank_pillar.nif.  I have, of course, installed the mappack, so I should have all of the pertinent art assets from FF1.  Here's where it gets even weirder, despite the nif not being in the appropriate folder, the pillar still displays fine in game (although it won't spawn in ezscript), and I ALSO can't find the pillar in my FF1 art.dat.  Any ideas guys?

Look for shadow_pillar.nif in underground/shadowslair/buildings/shadowpillar.

I remember running into more than one case of that back when I was experimenting with such things. I assume there is some hard coding of some game elements that supercedes template information when it's not necessary. Programming games can be like that sometimes.

Very weird!  Anyway, thanks Ren, I really appreciate the help. :D
