Hi all, i´m having trouble skoping a pair of arm braces onto my main mesh, i followed the tutorial at the wiki and the one by Style but its just not working for the arm brace.

The mesh i´m using is male_muscle_pointed_shoulders by REN, i´ve added a wig with no trouble from a male_draconus mesh but now comes my trouble, i´m adding the quantum bands from Tommy Quasar mesh using the same method i used for the wig "pasting onto a bone" in this case its the Right Hand bone, but when i go check if it hangs in place in the character tool the Quantum Band moves alot with various animations.

Here´s a pic of what happens, if someone can please explain what i´m doing wrong i would appreciate it because its my first attempt at skoping  ^_^.

Are you "removing" the NiSkinInstance for the bands?

I looked for that too but i don´t see any in the branch i copied.

EDIT: The only NiSkinInstance i see in there is the one for my main mesh, i don´t get it  :banghead:

Is the branch you pasted a sub-branch?  Say of "gloves," or some such?  If so, try copying the parent branch, and pasting to "handle," "Bip01," or "scene root," sometimes it will attach at base of mesh, but if you make the manual adjustments to get it where you'd prefer, it should stay attached.  Otherwise, email me whatever you are using at PeerlessWon@gmail.com* and I will do some field testing for you.  Believe me, I know how difficult this can be...it took 6 hours to do 1 for me yesterday, and it was nothing complicated, other than getting the MBasic to take MCape kf.  So let me know.
(Give me until Monday evening, as I work all weekend.  I also have school from 6pm to 9pm CST, so let's actually make that Tuesday morning.)

*FYI: To those reading this post, this is NOT a standing offer for all.  I happen to have a little time, and when such things occur I will (or will not) make similar offers as I see fit.  :banghead: Not being mean here, just realistic.  :)

PS: If I can get it to work, I'll tell you what I discover, so you can do it yourself in the future.  This is not easy for a beginner, nor for the guy who's been away almost a year  :D .

Thank you for helping Peerless.

Here´s what i´m using and trying to do...

The mesh i´m using is male_muscle_pointed_shoulders by REN its in his yahoo group 1, the mesh by Tommyboy Quasar_new_t is where i am going to get the braces i want called quantumband_1.
Now i copy the branch ninode quantumband_1 to my mesh and paste the entire branch on the scene root (does not work) or the Bip01 R hand (does not work).

If you don´t have these meshes i can send you a .nif with one in place.

Thanks again.

Do I have them? OMG I have a meshes and skins folder (unskoped) that is almost 6 meg!     I wanted (almost) ALL the toys.
Tried a couple things out already, but no real luck so far.  Still, it gets a bit closer every time.
By the way, do you just want the wristbands, or the jewels, too?  And only the right hand, or the left as well.  Each will require different adjustments, that is why I ask.

 no wonder...wrong Tommy Quasar mesh...let me try that again

XPTO

Well if you can copy the entire quantumbands node then its possible to hide what i don´t want next easily, and both arm bands yes  ^_^.

Thank you for helping, i´m skoping with other meshes and parts with no problem with them, maybe its the mesh dunno , if this doesn´t work i´ll try another mesh and see.

Thank you .

Ok, so the only thing that's worked so far without the "floating" problems is a bit wacky.

1.  I removed all unwanted nodes from Tommy's Quasar except the bands.  i.e. : male_basic, vision belt, etc.
2.  With only the skeleton of the mesh (and the quantumbands) left, I copy the male_cape mesh node from Ren's mesh
3.  Paste it on the Scene Root of Tommy's mesh
4.  Click on the male_cape to open the transform function
5.  Move the mesh up until the wrists and bands line up
6.  Repeat step 4 on the quantum_band1 node
7.  Reset the band to 1.1 in the scale box (Ren's mesh is a bit larger than Tommy's in the wrist area)
8.  Repeat steps 6 and 7 on the quantum_band2 node
9.  save nif
10.  Copy and paste the appropriate skin pieces from Tommy's Quazar to new mesh skope standard folder
11. Take a peek in the character tool (note: the new mesh skope will take male_cape skins, and male_basic keys; strange, but true)

Hope this helps.  If it does not work for you, let me know, and I can send you the one I made, or try to post it on a fileshare site temporarily for you to grab.

Good luck, and have fun out there!  :D

Note, the skope may even take male_cape keys, but i have not tried them yet. will also take male_cape keys.

Here it is using some magneto kfs:

Many thanks for your effort but... although i did manage to do what you said my results were poor  <_<.

Here you can see the bands in place (i arranged the bands to not clip the model in nifscope) and not clipping.

But... as i run some animations they come out of place, dunno if i´m doing something wrong here with the adjustments in nifscope.

Anyway your results seem what i´m looking for and if you can send it to me i will appreciate it and full credit for the skope goes to you.

I´ve been skoping other stuff and no problems so far, this is weird  :banghead:.

It should be here, and no worries about credit...It was your idea after all.  Just credit Ren and Tommy.  That's good enough for me.

Note: the bands may need a bit more size adjustment, the wrists "bleed" through a little in some animations.  And this is FFv3R format.  I can make another, but my original char tool is gone, so I couldn't test it at all in FF format.
