That sentence... is desperately in need of some grammatical rearrangement and punctuation... heh.

I *think* you're asking how CoH compares to other MMORPGS?

Well, it's the only Superhero genre around, so it's certainly the best Superhero MMORPG in town...

I've never played WoW or UO or Everquest, but I do know that CoH/CoV has kept me playing now for over two years and I still look forward to logging on and smiting evil (or perpetuating evil if I'm playing CoV).

You could always track down a trial code and try it out for a week or two before committing to a purchase?

yah i need to work on my grammer lol,uh ill try that out and see how it goes with the trial of city of heros then

The game is definately a lot different then WoW.  I play both.  While WoW certainly lends itself to a variety of play styles, IMHO CoH/V is built more around the team environment. In WoW it's certainly do-able to solo from 1 to 70 and never do an instance at all.  Depending on the type of toon you play on CoH/V soloing will be easier or harder.

It certainly recreates the comic book feel extremely well. If you love comics, or just love the superhero genre in general, you'll love CoH.

I can comment, as I've played UO, EQ, and WoW:

Ultima Online I didn't like at all. I had a 30 day free trial and quit after about 5 days, completely disgusted with the game.

Everquest used to be good, but it seems like after a point they released expansions just for the sake of making a money and appeasing high level players while not adding much content for lower level players and newbs. Plus, in EQ you're definitely hosed at higher levels if you can't get into a powerful guild, as you'll never never see any of the endgame content if you're not. (That's one of the reasons I quit) Plus, Sony's tech support is lousy. I played EQ for about 3 years give or take a month, and I consider to be about the last 4-5 months I played a waste of my time.

World of Warcraft? I played CoH for about a year and quit to go play WoW about a month or two before CoV came out. This past September, I quit WoW and started playing CoH again in early October, ordering CoV a few days later. And I couldn't be happier. To me, WoW was fun until I got to the higher levels of the game because all the decent guilds were hardcore raiding guilds where everyone was out for themselves and unwilling to help people accomplish quests and goals they needed to advance that couldn't be soloed. I never could finish the Onyxia Lair key quests because I couldn't find anyone willing to help me get past a certain point, for instance. Yes, you can solo from 1 to 70, but it won't be easy and you won't get a lot of great equipment doing so unless you take a up a profession that makes a lot of money (like Alchemy) and buy your gear.

CoH and CoV rock because you can solo a good portion of the game unless you pick a really weak archetype build and advancing doesn't require nearly as much help from other players to get to max level as EQ and WoW do. Me, I prefer to group, but will solo on some of my characters if I have to. My Peacebringer is pretty much a soloing machine, as are my two Masterminds (from CoV), so if I can't find a group on another character I'll switch to one of them.

I have the exact same feeling.  Leveling was very quick; I got my gnome mage up to 42 in just a few months of casual play.  But at the higher level, a larger and larger percentage of missions become Elite or Instances and, like Ghost said, I could never find people willing to help.  I never even got the Scarlet Monastery run completed to get the good staff for my mage; and that's not even a super high level Instance.

Pick-up groups are much easier to find in CoX and things like the Taks Forces are completely optional.  You can play the game perfectly well without joining a supergroup (though I would recommend it if you find a group that you like).  If you're going with a trial period I would suggest avoiding the Controller, they are (typically) the hardest to solo with.

At low levels, I'd agree. At higher levels, I'd say Defenders are harder to solo with than Controllers.

For trying out the game as a hero, I'd recomend playing a Scrapper (the single heroic AT that soloes best), or possibly a Blaster.

Yep. I can solo pretty well on my Bow (Trick Arrow\Archery) Defender, as long as I keep a couple heal inspirations stocked. By the same token, I can't solo too well on my Illusion\Radiation Controller, because he runs out of endurance way too fast. (Defender is lvl 14, Controller 12 or 13) I was doing a door mission on the Controller, facing mobs that were the same level and one level lower, and I actually had to exit the mission to go buy endurance inspirations THREE times before I finished it. (It was a 2-level building)

Tankers also burn through endurance pretty fast. At least, my Fire\Axe Tanker does. But that could be because Axe eats up more endurance than any other Tanker secondary except maybe Mace.

I've been pretty addicted to WoW for the past 2 years.  While running instances certainly lends to getting better loot, you can do all of the solo quests with greens you find in the world.  All the way to 70 there are solo quests - and tons of them. When the expansion came out I did one instance run at level 62 with my warrior and never set foot in an instance until I hit 70.  Sure you can't do the elite quests, but you can certainly solo the entire game. In fact soloing in wow is by far easier then in CoX.  At 61+ most of the green rewards are better then the raiding gear anyway.  By level 65 I had replaced all of my epic tier 2 equipment. The problem with soloing in WoW is once you hit 40 you have to jump to multiple zones for quests until 50, then you can stay focused in one or two zones the rest of the time.

Soloing in CoX is based on what archetype you play. Certain Archs make it easier to solo. Scrappers for instance are great at it.

The thing is, I don't really like comparing WoW to CoX since, in my view, they're very different games.
