Hi. I was a user on this site a while back. I guess my domain name expired or something. But anyway, I'm a huge Freedom Force fan, but I stopped playing after a while when it seemed that the modding community slowed to a seeming stop.

But checking on this site, it looks like there's been some activity since I've been gone. I've heard something about a "Crisis" mod and a DC mod for FFvTTR. Where can I pick these up? Any other good mods out there that I should check out?

Hey man, well, it depends, when did you leave?  What was the last thing you played, there have been a LOT of advances, probably the greatest of which is FFX3.  You should deffinetly check it out.  As far as the Crisis Mod, it's by Previsionary, and it can be found here:

http://www.frpmods.com/

The DC mod is not a mod as such, and it's sort of my baby.  It's a comprehensive mesh, skin, voice, and built in character pack, complete with EZScript support and a few custom maps....or at least it will be when I finish it.  It's in the alpha testing phase right at the moment, close to going to Beta, and probably a few months from full release (mostly because of the voices I still have to do).  If you care to read through my thread in this forum, you'll find all kinds of info about it, including a very ambitious and painfully unlikely side project of mine that's connected to it.  I hope that helps!

people have "heard" about my mods? Surprising...yet...cool. :P

Anyway, my ffvttr mods are at frpmods.com which has 9 ffvttr mods. Only 2 are pure DC and Crisis is like a crossover mod. I'm not much of a DC person and the DC mods I did release didn't get their full stories because of lack of interest on my part...but they could easily be updated if their was enough interest. (Batman atleast got the fourth mission added on). The other mod I would suggest is Liberty Bay since it's still getting updated and has voices and all that snazzy stuff. You can find that here: http://libertybay.freedomforceforever.com/index.htm .

And finally, I'd suggest this mod for ffvttr if ya liked and enjoyed customforce for ff1: http://home.comcast.net/~lee-kirby/cf2.html   <-----customforce 2

EDIT: somewhat ninja'd by sir Benton

To answer your question, the mod I played last was for the first game. The only mod for Third Reich that I new of was FFX 2. So, I'm really behind the times.

Okay I got on the website and I tried to download the Batman mod (something short to start out with). How do I install it?

Previsionary

this may help you: http://frworld.wikispaces.com/How+to+install+a+mod

In short:  Unrar the mod from the .rar file (using winrar or something similar). The file should go here:

Irrational Games\Freedom Force vs The 3rd Reich

Also, you should download this patch

and unrar it here:

Irrational Games\Freedom Force vs The 3rd Reich\Batman

It should overwrite the "missions" folder and the "objects.dat". It basically fixes a mesh issue I somehow overlooked and fixes/edits a mission...which i dont remember at the mome. If ya want the mission 4 add-on, just pm me. Hope this helps.

P.S. The shortcut is in the mod folder. One for fullscreen and one for a window.
