Faster contact for direct

Im not sure where to post this topic, but i had a question regarding fx for direct attacks. There are some really really great fx for green lanterns, magicians, and such but i never use them because the whole animation runs through before the effect sets in. Is there a way to have the hit count as soon as the fx occurs? Thanks in advance.

It is because the fx was made for  :ff: not  :ffvstr:. This is a known issue.
