FX sounds question

Is there anyway to use a built-in sound for a custom fx?

The main reason I ask is that I've downloaded a custom fx, and I want to give it a sound that is already built-in to the game. The problem I'm having is that when I use FFEdit, and browse the sounds, I'm not able to select already existing sounds to use. Can anyone give me a hand?

like ex) copy flaming fist fx sounds and rename it
