Anyone have any of these? http://www.gitcorp.com/group.asp?grp=14

They seem like a great idea. I'm considering ridding myself of the 1600+ comics I've had in storage, and purchasing a couple of these DVDs sounds like a good way to eat my cake and have it too.

But I have a few reservations. I can't find a definite list of each issue available on any given DVD, mostly. They don't include the "Giant-Sized" issues of some titles, inexplicably, but have other special issues instead. I'd like to know precisely what is on a DVD before I commit to buying it.

I have the AVENGERS one, and I like it a lot. I'm planning on getting the others as well. It has the whole run of volumes I, II, and III, plus the first 12 issues of Bendis' "New Avengers", and all the Annuals through 2001. As you mentioned, they don't include the Giant-Size issues (which puts big holes in the middle of Englehart's run  ), and it doesn't have the various spin-off series like West Coast or Solo Avengers. Still, for what you get it's a great deal.

I have the Avengers one, too. I think it's great, dispite the flaws already mentioned.

I saw a few comic cd collections at 7-11s and Fred Meyer's awhile back. They had Daredevil, Hulk, Avengers, etc. I picked up an Avengers one (first series, 1-10). Having comics on cd is cool, especially since I sold off most of my collection. The only problem was that the interface seemed really clunky. Not sure how these compare, but that's one thing to consider.

SNAP! Avengers 1-10

I've got the Fantastic 4, Avengers, and spider-man sets, and I think it's a pretty great idea.  I deffinetly am going to have to pick up Hulk, Cap, and the X-Men as well.

Is the Hulk set out yet? I've been waiting for it.

I've also been meaning to get the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man sets. Can't make up my mind about X-Men- there's really only one period of the series' history that I'm all that interested in, and besides the shear number of mega crossover events in X-Men history would make the storylines kind of hard to follow in this form...

That's true, about the X-Men, Alaric.  I hadn't thought about that.  Still, I suppose that there'd be enough to make up for it.  I loved Clairemont's run, and I'd very much like to read the classics as well.  Yes, I believe that the second wave: Hulk, Cap, and X-Men are all out now, but I could be wrong.

Cool. Thanks for the opinions, everyone!

They seem like pretty awesome products. I'm just after the stories and the fun, and I guess in the long run it makes a lot more sense to buy 500+ comics on a single DVD than to try and buy them all in TPBs and quarter boxes. (Yeah, I don't think I'll find Avengers #1 in the quarter box!) Besides, having all 500+ issues means I'll have to read the dud issues that I'd never buy otherwise.

Alright. So they have drawbacks, but are generally very convenient, very economical, and very geek-worthy, right? Awesome.

Not sure how many comics are on the X-men cd, but my favorite X-Men eras would probably be on there: Stan Lee/Jack Kirby, Neal Adams, Claremont, Cockrum, Byrne, Paul Smith, and some of the John Romita Jr run.
