I was thinking during algebra, that it would be cool to have a communative property for ff. My idea is to be able to switch places with the person you aim the attack at. I think it would be done easier as an attack type. That would be body swap(physical). I was also thinking about a body swap(mental). this would be like possesion but the target would get your body too. so for my questions: How hard would this be to do? Where should i start?

Physical body swap is already available as Teleport Swap (built-in, for use on allies) and Castle (FFX, for use on enemies).

Mental swap would probably be rather a bit tricky to do, but it certainly looks feasible. One of the possible ways to do it:

If both the attacker and target are AI characters, hypnotise both. For the theorical duration of the hypnosis, check if the character is still hypnotised; if not and if his health is lower and he has as many hero points as before, hypno him again. Once one of the two character has broken out of hypnosis except because of damage, remove the hynosis on both.

If the target or the attacker is a player character, use the FFX shapeshifter code to morph each into the same template as his enemy. Add/remove the AI. Swap positions.

If both are player characters, err... ask a friend to take the keyboard in your stead for a few seconds.

EDIT: Corrected the Player vs. AI idea.

Thanks. The thing with mental swap is i wanted it for, say a target has minions, the attacker is pretty much useless accept that move. So when you switch bodys, you get his minions, he gets nothing. I realise it is the same effect as body snatch but i just wanted it to have a little kick :D. Well thanks for the info
