I don't know if anyone else has encountered this problem.... but when I play FFvT3R and the game loads, it works smoothly and works extremely well. But when not visible characters start to appear or new characters load in, the game slows down incredibly. Is there a patch I need to install? or something?  has anyone found a fix on this yet? or is it my settings?

Would greatly appreciate any help at all! Thanks so much!

Nothing sounds wrong here.  Computers are not infinite in power.  They can do only so much at one time.  Give it too many meshes to process, and it slows down.

Lunarman

Well something is wrong for him Cat, even if it's what normally happens.

What processor and graphics card do you have? How old is your comp?

welldan

My graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 5200. i'm not sure which one is the data for the processor but my PC says this:

Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz, 2.79 GHz, 512MB of RAM. Not really sure what that means and I'm not quite sure how old my pc is either. maybe 2 years?

Thanks so much Lunarman and cat!!! :D I hope this has a solution cause it really gets irritating when the game starts to slow. :S

Does it happen with the default game or only with mods? If only with mods, which ones? Are you using FFX 3.2 or an older release?

welldan

It happens with the default game and with mods. I'm currently using FFX 3.1 though.

Lunarman

Your CPU speed seems fine although you're RAM is a bit short.

I have 1gig and it runs fine. Most games now require 1gig to work so you might want to think about getting another 512mb of RAM if you've got the cash.

welldan

Ah okay. I'll see if I can work on that, I think I've got the cash for it! hehe Thanks so much for the help guys!  :D

If it happens with the default game... weird. Maybe a conflict with another program? Try to close as many resident junk... err programs as you can (warning: be careful!)

Still, I suggest upgrading to FFX 3.2. Memory usage is improved. The game, even with FFX, should normally be playable with 512 MB of RAM, unless using lots of characters and/or meshes and/or FFX attributes.
