Freedom Force Edit and Sounds

When I try to open the sounds tab in Freedom Force Edit, th program crashes and I get ths message:

The instruction at "0x7c911e58" referenced memory at "0x00000000" The memory could not be read.
Click on OK to toerminat th program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

Clicking on either one ends the program. Now, I've never been able to add new sounds to this game. I go through the instructions, assign a voice to a character, and they do their best Marcel Marceau impression. I've been hoping to be able to get a copy of EZVoice and see if that will help, but no luck so far.
Anyone got any idea what is going on?
