I just beat the gamer for PC and i was pretty impressed.
its an easy game,  but also REALLY fun and hilarious.
I'm hoping that these are the designs that make it onto the new cartoon, as a lot of them really kicked butt.  the proportions for Rhino and Sandman were just perfect.
theres a nice mix of characters to play with too,  a few heroes, and quite a few spidey villains. the only thing that really irked me was Lizard's characterization,  but it was a nice change kind of,  since scorpion and venom cover the crazed violent psycho roles pretty well.  i would've liked to see shocker and electro be playables too,  but they could be in the sequel (hopefully with daredevil too!)

This is one of those game that I wouldn't nescessarily play on my own, but I've dragged my sister into it and we've had a pretty fun time playing, dispite her dislike of all things spider-man  . Easy to get into, and quite fun. Not really fodder for serious gaming, but it's a good game to relax with after work or something.

Is there a vs mode? Thought I read this somewhere. I was thinking about getting Spidey 3 or this. From what I am reading about spider-man 3 however it doesn't look to promising. I would get the games for my pc by the way.

Carravaggio

Having worked in a EB Games up until recently I can say that we got a huge amount of returns for spidey 3. I don't know how much better the experience would be on PC, but I'm thinking not much.
I'd stick with FoF.

really,  spidey 3 for pc is soo buggy, and theres crazy lag,  even with better than minimum requirement computers.  FOF all the way.  it's like Ultimate spider-man meets one of the Ninja Turtle games.

If they came up with a patch or a "gold edition" or something to fix the bugginess of spider-man 3 (I noticed it, and I am usually oblivious to all but the most severe issues) you might enjoy S3 more, but as it stands FoF is cleaner, less glitchy, and generally the superior of the two games.

TheMarvell

I heard Spider-Man 3 on the PS2 was absolutely abysmal, and makes the PS3/360 versions feel way superior than they actually are.

I got the wii version, it was pretty nice actually. Actually being able to "web swing" was quite enjoyable.

TheMarvell

was the Wii version made by Treyarch or Vicarious Visions? Treyarch was responsible for the PS3/360 versions (as well as the previous 2 Spidey movie games) and VV did PS2, which is one of the main reasons why it tanked. No clue who did the Wii version.

Meh, I looked it up and apparently it's done by VV... Again though, I tend to be absurdly less critical of games then others do, so you might not enjoy it. I just thought the controls were more interesting and fun for the wii then for the PS2 spider-man 2 and USM games, that's all.
