El Guerrero del Antifaz (The Masked Warrior)

Manuel Gago, 1944

'El Guerrero del Antifaz' was one of the first comic heroes of Spain. Its original author was Manuel Gago in 1944. El Guerrero del Antifaz is the adoptive son of an emir in the late Al-Andalus Spain, back in the 15th century. He fought fiercely against the christian troops during the reconquer battles.At the age of 20, his mother told him that his real father was a Christian Count and her was forced to married with the emir (his adoptive father) when he was a baby. After that the emir kills his mother, changing this event his life. He put a mask and start to fight with the christian troops to preserve his family honor and seeking for revenge.
