X-Factor #23 question

[spoiler]Did anyone reading the latest X-Factor understand what happened to Pietro during the incident at the abandoned carnival with Layla (it's not what you think!  :blink: ) The artist, Pablo Raimondi, drew the scene in a way that made it very difficult (for me, at least) to be sure what exactly happened to Pietro. One thing I'm sure of is he got hit by something, but I'm not sure what. I'm pretty sure he either 1) got hit by a moving horse on the carosel or 2) got hit by some kind of bar or part of the machine that fell or moved in front of him or on top of him. Did he get knocked out? Killed? What?

He also says out loud, "Wanda". I can only assume he was either reminded of Wanda by Layla's odd way of knowing what odd event or calamatie is about to occur (comparable to Wanda's ability to MAKE unlikely events occur) or thinking of his beloved sister in his last moment before he died.  Still I thought it was a bit odd, and has led me to think Layla's connected to Wanda in one way or aother.   [/spoiler]

I gotta figure #24's recap page will make it more clear, the issue will be addressed in an upcoming issue, or PAD himself has cleared it up on a message board.

On a related note, I hate the way Raimondi draws Pietro (he looks a bit too....I'm gonna go with "fruity") and the character used to be one of my all time favourite superheroes before his recent developments.

The sign on the next says "Keep head and arms in carousel." Hence, WAAAAMMM!

I think Layla is a piece of Wanda's "original" Probability Altering powers. Pietro sees that in her.

[spoiler]Your theory is very much similar to mine. But a big part of it for me is the fact that Wanda, as seen in New Avengers, has lost her memory of her entire life as an Avenger. I think Layla's a reincarnation of sorts, perhaps similar to how Wiccan and Speed are believed to have the souls of Wanda's twins.  [/spoiler]
