Wonder man vs whoever...what are some issues with Simon...

I am no expert, but that seems believable to me. WM should be one of Marvel's heavy hitters. He about is on strength par with Thor (or at least was when I read the comics) and is fairly invulnerable.

But there's no doubt he's the red-headed step child of the strong man set.  I've always like him, but he's never given a break.

at least he's not the green headed step-child, leonard.  that guy gets less respect than dangerfield.

I think that like she-hulk he's a tough character to write, since he has a career and an interesting sort of identity. But yeah, powers wise I think he's as strong as any of marvels super strong characters (without going into the uber category of hulk or certain cosmic or godlike entities) and can fly.

One of my favourite fight scenes featuring Wonder Man going toe-to-toe with a heavy hitter was in Peter David's Last Avengers Story mini-series (spoilers ahoy!).

[spoiler]The Avengers go after a rampaging Hulk (the smart one from David's run on the Incredible Hulk) who was driven insane after witnessing the events and being the only survivor of Ragnarok (which explains the absence of Thor and guys like Hercules and Thing, both of whom died helping Thor in the final battle in Asgard). Anyway, Wonder Man puts up a valiant effort against the Hulk (who's already ripped through most of the Avengers' ranks) but he's clearly no match for the guy. Hulk finally manages to crack Wonder Man's invulnerable hide, whereupon Wonder Man grabs the Hulk in a bear hug as his massive internal energies escape through the breach in his skin in a huge explosion that incinerates them both (and blinds Hawkeye, who sees the explosion from miles away).[/spoiler]
