I purchased a legit copy of FFvsTTR from ebay, still sealed, the discs in perfect condition. After a week of waiting it arrives. Being t he good lad that i am i wait til i get my current assignment done before i give it a try. I bough the extra copy of  :ffvstr: co si lost the first disc for my last copy.
Also, just for laffs i make a voicepack, put it all together and get it ready to go so i have something new to test out on the game...
but the game wont start.
i am my old install of the game on my oooold PC, and am running the new disc i bought.
When i first inserted the disc it ran the old play/uninstall screen, but i exited that and tried to run FFX3
no dice.
i tried running it from disc 2, just in case the cant label discs properly.
nothing
so i tried running the game, plain vanilla  :ffvstr: from the autostart menu (unistall/play)
again, it wont work. the very screen that is inviting me to play the game then tells me to the wrong disc is inserted, could i please insert the correct disc...except this IS the correct disc.
so i try running the game from the exe file straight off the disc. it gives me this:

Can't find languages? but that makes no sense, all that stuff is in the .ff files, if i recall correctly. Lets have a look...

huh thats weird, my PC directory is on the left, the disc directory is on the right.
Now i might be waaaay off base here, cos my PC knowledge is more in the area of Photoshop, but it looks like the disc directory is missing a whole bunch of .ff files. Maybe they are extracted from larger .ff files during the install, but it looks like the CD directory is missing vital resources.
so right now i'm batting 0/0, and i don't have the time to do a full reinstall tonight. Any ideas, FR?

Bit of an update:
I cant work so long as this is bugging me, so i went and installed the new game on my E drive, and it works fine. I did notice that the publishers or distributors are different, the old copy of the game is distributed by Auran, the new copy by Sierra.
Is it possible that this company altered something so that the sierra version of FF won't play with an Auran installed game?
If so that is really pointless and I cant imagine what benefit they get from it.
Still can't find my old game, and i tore my place apart looking for it. Looks liek no matter what i will haev to invest some time in a clean install of FF.
Dammit, thats a lot of files to move about.
