The PvP mystery

I wasn't really sure where this belongs, here seems as good as anywhere.

Sooooo... PvP is doing a murder mystery. Scott Kurtz apparently put a lot of research and effort into writing it.

Naturally, it's our job to assume he's a hack and start guessing the ending before the clues are even properly presented.

My guess:
Dentrite is faking his own death. No idea why, but basically, he yelled, put some makeup on his head to simulate getting hit, played dead, and then when the lights went out, he crawled out and escaped through the window.

I'm assuming the horse-face chick is in on it, cuz she pronounced him dead. And the jock probably is too, since he disappeared. He was probably working the lights during the blackout. If I had to take a guess, I'd say they're trying to make it a memorable reunion, or something lame like that.
Anybody else wanna take a stab at it?

Get it? Take a stab at it? hurr hurr hurr...

Good theory, Spud. Trouble is, you didn't work in
the girl with the bazooms
. Can't have a murder mystery without the
sex object
being tied in somehow

Sword

Despite my first thought that it's
Brent, using the football trophy as a red herring, When the lights went out, he was near jade and the sex object leaped into his arms.
Actually, Gday,
I *did* work her in. She's "horse-face chick" in the spoiler above.
Spider, please put that in spoiler tags.

That's "horse faced"??? I must have been distracted by her other art assets

I thought it was all part of a high school reunion gag. Why else would have been a "all nighter" where they locked the doors?

Something else to do aside from smoking in the boys room.

And the body gag is soooooo from Gross Pointe Blank.

Never read PvP, but I'm curious about this. What issue would I start with?

I, too, assumed that it was probably a high-school reunion murder mystery game.  But apparently it's not.

Without spoiling the revelations so far, I'm not terribly impressed with the storyline or any of the gimmicks he's using.  The whole "Clue Found! (x/10)" thing is so IF (Interactive Fiction) and as a comic strip I simply find it annoying.  So far he hasn't stopped to explain what Jade sees in the video playback, which is the whole key to where the strip is right now.  I might revise my opinion based on where it goes from here.

Obvious homages to various detectives/detective shows:
Charlie's Angels (http://www.pvponline.com/article/3568/sun-oct-07?y=)
Scooby-Doo ("Jinkies"? Oh, please.)
Barney Miller
CSI

Still waiting for references to Matlock, Quincy, Diagnosis: Murder, Nancy Drew, Monk, Columbo, The Rockford Files, etc.  Not sure how many he can squeeze in... that's the real entertainment factor for me.  What references have I missed?  I'm sure there are others that don't register with me.

And now some thoughts on the "clues" that Jade followed
First, the blood. "He's dead." Dead guys don't bleed, so why is there a trail of it, conveniently leading to the boiler room?
Second, and I think this is the big one that clued jade in on the truth of the matter: The watch. She made reference to the watch. It wasn't stolen so it wasn't a robbery. It must have been the watch that she saw on the tape. Because even if Dendrite is this master crook, he's still going to keep a genuine rolex(or some other high quality watch) on his person.
Midnight

*chuckle* It was a good run.

And I'm not replaying that level either.
