Johnny Raygun

I recently discovered a fantastic new comic:  Johnny Raygun.  Has anyone read it?  If you haven't  I do highly recommend Johnny.  It's a mega fun indie-comic that enjoyed a brief 8 issue run from like 2004 to 2006.  Johnny is a super-agent in an alternate Earth that is somewhat futuristic (e.g. flying cars and Star Trek like food replicators are common place) and yet kind of retro in a Kirby-esque sort of way (e.g. vacuum tubes sticking out of electronic devices).  Rich Woodall, Johnny Raygun's creator, says that Johnny is essentially old school Peter Parker without the spider powers meets the Green Lantern Corp except with a raygun instead of a ring.   It's great stuff.

Well, looks pretty sweet on that one picture. And look at all those awesome cameos...
This looks like something that'd be right up my alley. I'll have to ask my dealer if he ever sees any issues of this.

Give Johnny a try, trust me, you won't be dissapointed!  If you are going to buy just one issue as an introduction and good representation I would get the #1 special edition (SE).  I think it's still like $3.00 which is a complete bargain.  There is also going to be a really cool Savage Dragon (yes, Eric Larsen's Savage Dragon) and Johnny Raygun crossover with cameos by Invincible, Moth Man, Nihist-Man, Jack Staff, the Hero Camp heroes, and more...set to come out in early 2008 that is going to rock!  And of course, there are the older 8 issues that you can order directly from Square Cat at: http://jetpackpress.com/store.html.

Actually, I think Johnny deserves to be skinned/scoped for  :ffvstr:.  And if I had any skills in doing so he's the one I'd work on first!  But I digress off the subject!
