Gimp question

I am trying to change a color of a cape from red to yellow. How do I do this in Gimp? I want to maintain the shadows and such.

Sure, it's actually pretty simple but I made it far more difficult then it had to be. I was trying to paint on the new color with the brush and then try to paint on the shadows which was taking forever and looking crappy. Then I discovered that I could change it all very easily. :doh:

First load up the cape.tga. Select "colors" in the top drop down menu. Then choose "hue saturation". Now just adjust the hue slider til you get the color you want. Save it and there you go.
