well I downloaded ffx 2 and after a little searching found an installation guide. I followed the guide's directions up to where it said,
"Right click on the shortcut and select the Properties option. In the Box labelled Target, change the path for the FF executable to the correct place, but make sure that the -log option remains on the end."
So i made a shortcut to Freedom Force, went to properties, and renamed the path in target "C:\Program Files\Irrational Games\Freedom Force\fforce.exe-log" but when I clicked apply a message popped up that said,
"The name 'C:\Program Files\Irrational Games\Freedom Force\fforce.exe-log' specified in the Target box is not valid. Make sure the path and file name are correct."
What am I supposed to do?

-log goes outside the quotes.
So it would be:

"C:\Program Files\Irrational Games\Freedom Force\fforce.exe" -log

Ok, I'll try that.

EDIT: it didn't work, the same message popped up

The only time you should get that alert is when it cant find the executable in the path provided, or the formatting is wrong.
So that begs the questions:

A) Is your install of Freedom Force actually located at "C:\Program Files\Irrational Games\Freedom Force"?
B) Is the executable actually called "fforce.exe"
C) Make sure you haven't accidentally included extra quotes or anything.
D) Make sure there is a space between the closing quote and the -log

You might try making a shortcut again. Then try running the game from it.
If that works, it means the raw shortcut is correct.
Open its properties and don't change anything except add -log to the end (with a space) if that doesn't work, then there is some other issue involved.

Also, take a look at the Game FAQ, which has some information in this as well as instructions as to how to find where your base game directory is, etc.

Well, before you guys posted I put the -log right after fforce making it "C:\Program Files\Irrational Games\Freedom Force\fforce-log.exe" I noticed something was wrong immediately when the Freedom Force logo turned into a white box. I changed it back as fast as I could but that didn't help. So now when I try to get Freedom Force a message pops up that says,
"This application has failed to start because Sound.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
or when I try to get Freedom Force from the application in the system file, it says the same thing but with Standard.dll instead of Sound.dll. I tried re-installing but it didn't work.
So, new question: How can i fix this?

GogglesPizanno

You will run into this usually when you have the wrong path in the shortcut.

Try running "fforce.exe" directly form the freedom force install directory.
Don't use shortcuts or anything.
If that works, then your game install is fine.

My guess is that you still are having problems with your shortcut and putting in the wrong path, or formatting it wrong.

I tried it from "fforce.exe" and now it starts the program but then a standard error message pops up saying, "fforce.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

EDIT: I think I might just need to re-install the patch for it. Any one know where I can find it?

Freedom Force works again with the patch and the attributes are working!  :D
Thanks GogglesPizanno and stumpy.  ^_^
