Mesh Beam/Projectile problem

I'm playing around with kssaints's Mister Element mesh and a Mister Freeze mesh but when I try to assign a beam or projectile to them the beam does not originate from their weapons but rather just comes from out of thin air a little infront of their midsection.
Is this fixable?

Yes.
i just don't know how.
i think you need to set the weapon node in the character creator to tell the game where to shoot the beam from.
Some other FR'er can surely explain it better than I.

The weapon node appears as an editable mesh in NIFSkope, so, once you find it, unhide it and transform its position to somewhere more appropriate.  If it is not already attached to, say, a hand or a head, transfer it to the appropriate Biped node (e.g., Bip01Head) and reposition it appropriately.  Just remember to rehide it before saving.
