The Only Good Batman Game

Howdy guys, I recently started playing the old, OLD Adventures of Batman and Robin for Super Nintendo.  I had heard of this game, but never really played it.  I am astonished by how incredibly awesome it is.  It is (with the possible exception of Lego Batman, since I haven't played it) the only good Batman game ever made...and it is GOOD.  In the first level I fought the Joker on a roller coaster, but that was only after I fought a giant toy soldier.  To beat it I had to race up its rifle and kick it in the face.  There is more awesomeness in that first level than in the entirety of the Batman: Begins game.  It is done in TAS style, so, of course, it is the best of all possible Batman settings (the ideal form of Batman, if you will).  I'm really amazed that a game as old as this is this good.  Anyway, if any of you have the ability to try this out, I heartily endorse the effort.

Apparently I've got to track down the Sega CD version......

Yes, AFTER Lego Batman, this is the best Batman game ever made.

I made it all the way up to The Riddler, though I never beat him (and I'll warn you now- be prepared to lose HUNDREDS of lives on the final jump in the Scarecrow level). If you do, let me know what comes next.

Haha, well, I intend to do my darndest to bet it Bredon, so I'll be sure to let you know if I figure it out!

I'm in total agreement.  I loved this game!  The Roller Coaster battle just demonstrated how great a platform/fighter game could be!  It always reminded me of the classic Daredevil vs. Bullseye fight on a roller coaster (DD #161?).  I don't think I ever solved this one, as it is quite tough.

the only real Batman game I've played was Batman Returns on the NES, and back in the day, I remember it being pretty good. It probably hasn't aged well, but I remember having fun with it.

Bredon and all concerned, I just beat the Poison Ivy level, though it took a few tries!  The next level is a Penguin level, apparently he and his gang are robbing a museum, and when Batman and Robin arrive it is booby trapped.  You have to bring the flashlight and scan the floors for mines, while navigating the place.  I haven't reached the boss yet, but I'll let you know how it is. ;)

I actually played this a long time ago, great game, but tough to beat.

I remember having troubles with the Riddler level.
