I might hold off on getting the US version of this game. Saw this article http://www.videogamer.com/news/06-11-2008-9867.html and it looks to me that a European version will have all the fatalities that was suppose to be in it.

Just to correct what you said, the European version has not been confirmed to have any different finishing moves from the US version. Hans said that it was a possibility. While it is a shame that the Joker fatality got censored last minute it is not the end of the world.

I still have this game on reserve and I'm looking forward to buying it in 12 hours or so. :D

Once I get the hang of it I would welcome anyone who owns a PS3 to challenge me to a match. My PS3 tag is Meejub.

Ahh, then I stand corrected. I doubt that I can wait any longer for this game anyway. This is the only game that has my favorite superhero in it, Captain Marvel. I'm not a hardcore MK fan either so the watered down fatalities will not bother me as much.

Hmm, I see that IGN gave Forced Unleashed 7.3 and MK vs DC 7.5. I really loved Forced Unleashed so that should mean that I will really love MK vs DC too.

Don't be so sure. They gave Conan a 6 and I had a blast with that game, while they gave Stranglehold an 8.1 and that game was definitely worse, not to mention buggy as hell.

Alright, I got the game and I love it! Watered down fatalities be damned it's just pure fun. Finally the good Captain Marvel is in a game and he looks fantastic. I am not too far into the DC story, fighting as Cap in hell but so far I love this game.

It's a teen rated game, what did you expect? As for the "Heroic Brutality" name I think the MK team wanted to use "Brutality" and DC balked and had them add Heroic to it.

I think it was a bad idea and sounds sort of stupid when you say it out loud. I mean seriously come on, really putting 'heroic" in front of a word all of a sudden makes it ok? "Heroic Racism, Heroic Murder, Heroic Incest, etc etc." Who ever was in their marketing department and came up with this one should sit down.

Also why are some of the characters "extremed?" I can not for the life of me understand why you would bother changing a costume to be "hardcore" ands not really turn up the volume. To add additional armbands and seams hardcore and extreme does not make. Amirite?

This game IS a lot of fun. Heroic, shmeroic. The engine is solid and the fun factor is there. I LOVE Captain Marvel's moves. he's my favorite by far. The graphics are great. People won't remember Heroic Brutalities or not. They will remember a game that was fun.

So what if they "updated" some of the DC characters looks. It doesn't hurt gameplay one bit. I hope there will be awesome downloadable characters at some point.

I absolutely agree with you. This game is a blast. I totally love it, more so than I thought I would. Cap is my favorite too, just love it when he shouts "shazam" and the bolt comes down frying his opponent. I have had so many Kingdom Come rematches already and each one was so freaking cool. It's like your playing with Alex Ross's paintings of the heroes isn't it? I really loved the story too and how cool it was to replay it from the other side's perspective. Yep, love this game!

Anyone else here having trouble with the fatalities/brutalities? Been trying for hours and hours to pull off Capt.Marvel's brutalities with no luck.

Speed does not matter but distance does - just so you know your games not broken i suggest putting the difficulty of the arcade down to very easy & then getting Flash - After defeating the opponent get about medium distance or more away & slowly type out Flash's finisher < < > > B (easiest one in the game) - Captain Marvel's Finishers are done from about sweep distance or closer - So far Cap'n Marvels finisher where he slams you into the ground with your legs sticking up & Batman's bat sonar finisher are my favorites :blink:

FYI I've updated the Fatality/Brutality list with the proper distances. Also Electro is right. Distance matters, speed does not.
