The Hitman

Of course, it makes sense that the day I announce that I want top try to get the wiki going again, the thread gets deleted.

So, I just want to say again, PLEASE help out with this project, if you want. This wiki is for all of us. This month, we;re specifically looking for pages on anything about Voice Packs, but really, you can write about anything.

Thanks again in advance!

Epimethee

The wiki is looking good. Thanks for your work! :)

I suggest you post in the Sounds forum. Once FR is back in full glory, maybe the link to the wiki could be stickied or it could be added to some of the existing stickies.

Shazam

Yeah thanks for the Wiki. I love things like that

catwhowalksbyhimself

You know, if you really like this wiki, I know of a REALLY great way to say thanks.

Register and contribute something.

Correct some spelling, add a missing link (that sounds sort of funny, doesn't it?) reorganize a section that's looking messy.  Do something, because this wiki's usefulness for everyone depends on people like you adding whatever they can to it.

Shazam

I already have registered Cat. As to contributing something, I dare say I will as and when I can think of something usefull. I've been out of the FF loop for awhile and not contributing as I once did.

catwhowalksbyhimself

I wasn't targeting that statement just and entirely at you, Shazam.  More as a blanket thing.

The Hitman

Yeah, everyone, thanks a bunch for the contirbutions! I work non-stop this week, but I have a thing or two planned that'll be posted on the weekend.

Shazam

Just out of curiousity, what sort of things could we contribute? I'm guessing one thing is to put forward bios for our avatars. Are we able to put these up ourselves? Or would that be done by the admin/mods whatever?

catwhowalksbyhimself

No, it's a wiki.  Anybody that officially joined this wiki can add, edit, remove, or whatever.

If you only signed up for wikipages, you need to apply to join FR World.  There should be a link on the main page.  After that, just click the edit button on any page and go to town.

And I'm pretty sure you can contribute whatever you might think is of interest.

Where's the former one?

the_ultimate_evil

hmm maybe this would give me the push to actully get my avs backsotry finally sorted

konbiz

I don't really know what I could contribute to the Freedom Force Wiki, but I think that it could be an idea adding maybe an "extended lore" section or something along those lines, which could give details about the characters from the liberty bay mod etc anyway just a passing thought, although I will register incase anything does come to mind.

As Cat said, you can add whatever you want. All you need is to be a member, which is not a big deal. Avatar stuff is always welcome.

catwhowalksbyhimself

And feel free to rip off anything on the Liberty Bay site to use on the wiki.  No credit needed.

Reepicheep

I wish I could help more with the Freedom Force gameplay side of things, but I know very little about it that anyone else could write ten pages more on. Sorry.

With luck, one of the mebers of CRUSH, PALS or HAMSTER, etc will contribute to the teams page. I'd quite like to see that one in some glory.

The important is not what people could add, it's what does get added. Any contribution, from a cut and paste to an imprecise one-liner, is better than any potential perfect ten-pager.

With that said, maybe I ought to actually add something to the wiki. :P

Carravaggio

Well i've added my highlight tutorial to the wiki, but for some reason the images wont display. maybe im being dense about it but i rarely have trouble displaying image, but none of them want to show up in the wiki. im hosting my images at photobucket and i normally use the line that has the [IMG] tags around them...but no dice.
none of the other lines work either. little help so i can finish this page off?

UnfluffyBunny

what language is the wiki in? i'd imagine you want to use html

UnfluffyBunny

found a couple of tute's I wrote that currently arent available if someone wants to verify my join request ;)

UnfluffyBunny

Gah triple posting -I feel so wrong @_@-

Just to say i've added 2 tute's so far, and I fixed the image tags in carravaggio's :)

(rather odd code in wiki....
for future reference

Carravaggio

Gah! You freakin' champion! Thanks for the assist syn, and doubly thanks for those tutes. I've been having some trouble with cloth/wrinkles lately, so these are a timely addition.

UnfluffyBunny

it's just taken me a little over 3 hours to fully translate and semi-update the mesh list into wiki code -_- there's still alot of catching up to do with it, but it's a start

catwhowalksbyhimself

Wow!  I was hoping it would make it up there little by little, but that's a lot of work at once.  Many thanks!  It should be fairly easy to keep it updated now.  (which is the beauty of using a wiki)

UnfluffyBunny

slowly updating the mesh list piece by piece, lil bump for anyone else that wants to help this task :P

BatWing

hey shouldn't fr wiki have a how to skin or mesh and stuff?

catwhowalksbyhimself

There are already some sections on skinning.

Meshing's a bit harder, but that might happen eventually.

BatWing

is there a tutorial on how to make maps on wiki?
