Hey Everyone, I am kind of excited. I just nifscoped my first mesh. When I started out skinning. I started with some of the Global Guardians. Well there were never any meshes to fit the Olympian or Wildhuntsman. Well For my first nifscope project I made Olympian with a couple of tom_versatile meshes. I still need to put a few finishing touches on him. But was excited enough I wanted to preview him. I am planning to nifscope more soon as well as continuing to skin. So let me know what you think folks. I still need to find out what pieces I can deleate from a tom_versatile mesh with out causing it any damage. With all the posts that were taken away. I'm not sure if it is safe to just deleate all the unused parts? If you all have any info please feel free to let me know what I can do to make the mesh size smaller.
Thanks
Kssaints

he looks really cool.keep going with your ideas.

Swingman

It looks very promising indeed. I'm on my way to check out those yahoo groups of yours this very minut...

Revenant

That does look awesome!  Good choices on the bits you added, they fit him well.

As for the file size, I have found it takes a long time to delete bits, and there's always the danger of messing up the mesh.. instead of that I've started with a tv_lite mesh and then porting over the parts you need.

JKCarrier

Looking good! I am very happy to see more Global Guardians skins!

I have been playing around with the versatile meshes too, seeing how much can be deleted. From what I've seen, you pretty much have to leave on all the weapons (guns, swords, maces, etc.) and the wings (just the ones on the back; the head, ankle, and arm wings can be deleted). Most other pieces can be safely deleted. What I usually do is make a backup copy, remove a few pieces, and then see if it still works. If it does, I trash the old backup and make a new backup. That way I can slowly whittle it down, and if I accidentally mess it up, I can go back to my backup and I've only lost a few steps.

Another thing to watch out for: For some reason, if you delete pieces, the mesh can no longer be NifConverted. So if you want to use it in 3rd Reich, make sure you run it through the converter before you start stripping away stuff.

Sorry it's taken me a while to see this and comment on it, KS, things have been a bit chaotic this last week.  Anyroad, I think I remember that character, didn't he and Aquaman go mano-e-mano once?  It looks like you're deffinetly getting the hang of this Nifscope thing.  That skin is a pretty solid beginning too, and the cape looks really cool.  You captured the ragged look of it, like it's the fleece it's supposed to be and not just a cape.

I agree with Revanent, the best way that I found to do things is to find a mesh that has similar features, for example, to make a Batman mesh, start with Moon_Knight_tvlite and delete all the capes, gloves, belts, etc... Save and copy the Nif. Make sure the Nif still works with the keyframes, then start adding on the Batman pieces to your first Nif.   This way, if there are any problems, you still have a backup.

Hello Everyone,
I have finished my first 2 nifscope hexes. The Olympian is now finished and uploaded to my 8th Yahoo group. http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/saintsandskinners08 Also I have done Marvel's Flying Tiger hex as well. Both seemed to have turned out OK. Please let me know what you think.

Those look really great! Nice job on the NifSkoping.

BentonGrey

Great work, as always KS, and I really like the face on the tiger guy.  Ha, deffinetly the high point of the mesh.

Ganymede Zero

Flying Tiget is definatly one of your best works yet Kssaints

blobula

One more for my Masters of Evil team ! Thanks for this Flying Tiger, Kssaints.

electro

USAgent

I echo the thoughts of everyone else, great job with the nif scoping and skinning, and awsome Flying Tiger

Looking forward to whats next!

TaskMasterX

Dude! Flying Tiger rocks! Thanks for these skins!

FLASH_22798

Great job on these guys. Flying Tiger specifically.

ElijahSnowFan

hello! a favor to ask -- if anybody can help me to convert The Olympian for use with FFvTTR, could they please send me a PM?

i love this character (i know, i know. but he's so obscure, yet cool!), but for the life of me, i can't convert this mesh -- i've used two converters, and no dice.

and kssaints: AWESOME WORK on that! that skin/hex rocks!

Sledgehammer

Wow, nice job, kssaints. I'll be downloading that Flying Tiger in no time!

Hello everyone,
I am working on some skins and wanted to preview a few. I would also like feedback on which Spectre skin looks the best. The first skin is the new Sargon the Sorcerer. Then there is the Cirus Allen Spectre. Lastly I am getting colse to finishing the original Global Guardians with Wildhuntsman. Please feel free to give feedback on the Spectre skins. I still think it needs something.
Kssaints

BentonGrey

Howdy KS!  Well, I'm not familiar with Sargon, but I think you've done a good job on him, especially his eyes...creepy.  As far as the Spectre, I'd say either the rightmost or centre are best.  I don't think the green tinted one looks quite right.  Wildhuntsman looks pretty cool, but he needs some shine on those bracers.  (You said these are works in progress, so that's probably still coming anyway)  They look good, as always my friend ;)

electro

Looking forward to that Huntsman skin - as for the Spectre i choose the middle one

BitBiteOuch

Geez man, awesome work. As for Spectre, I think the one on the right looks more like the one in the Spectre mini, but the middle one is closer to his Tales From The Unexpected where we see him these days. My vote goes to the right one then I guess, that series was written better  :P

kssaints

Well I have uploaded some new skins to my 8th Yahoo group http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/saintsandskinners08  Red Arrow/Arsenal of the JLA, the new Starman of the JSA, the new Sargon the Sorcerer, Jericho in his newly reserected form, Nightman and Supernova1 from some long forgotten issues of World's Finest comics. I will be releasing more skins yet this weekend. Hope you all have fun with them.
Kssaints

BentonGrey

Awesome!  I have been waiting for Red Arrow and Jericho.  Thanks KS, these are great!

ElijahSnowFan

i picked up the Sargon the Sorcerer issue just so i could have a feel for this guy! (yep, i'm one of those guys -- gotta know what they do, if i can!)

he was pretty cool!

Lionheart

Nice job! I love the detailing on Nightman and Supernova1.

Podmark

Nice to see some new stuff. Good to see "Red Arrow", Starman, and Jericho specifically.

sweeten2213
