Dakkon's eyes grew wide as the key turned easily in the unlocked door.  Smiling grimly to himself, he waved to Anya, indicating that they should take the lead, and opening the door as quietly as he could, he slipped inside....

konbiz

"Well done laddo... Although I think a fireball would have been a wee bit more interesting."

Shahzir laughs to himself, and then follows the rest of the group.

Gremlin

The room is similar to the ones you've been in before, but much cleaner and straighter.  Well-laid mortar lies sandwhiched between perfectly straight bricks.  The hall extends about twelve feet before there's another door.

BentonGrey

Dakkon stepped tenatively into the hall, glancing warily around for a long moment.  Finally, he turned to Anya, and motioned that she should keep her eyes open for traps, as they moved through the room.

OOC: Well GG, I think I'll let you go first, I'm sort of wary that we may have some nasty surprises here.

Glitch Girl

Anya checks the immediate area for tripwires and other trap triggers and if it's clear motions everyone else inside.  Then she starts checking the rest of the room.

Gremlin

Anya:
There's nothing in the first section of the hall, but about eight feet down there's a foot-wide pressure plate embedded in the floor.  Right before it, the bricks in the wall look like they're not sealed with the mortar.  There's mortar there, it just looks like the bricks are slid into holes rather than actually a part of the wall.  They do that about two and a half feet wide and six and a half feet tall.
Glitch Girl

"Creful" says Anya, "looks ilke there's a pressure plate right here, " she points to the floor, "and I don't think we want to know what it triggers."

BentonGrey

Glitch Girl

OOG: No idea.  All I got is a cheap shortsword and my bare hands.  If disabling it requires tools, then probably not.
BentonGrey

OOC: Ahh, then I suppose we'll just have to step carefully.  I suppose that we can assume we'll all file into the room, moving as silently and carefully as possible.

Gremlin

You all move into the room, taking great pains to avoid the pressure plate.  Og can simply stride over it, the rest of you scuttle on the narrow sides of the wall.

The door inexplicably slams shut behind you.

Shahzir:
Your familiar feel several floors directly above you.
Dakkon:
The footsteps on the floor are fainter now, but you track them through the room.  They turn and seem to vanish into the wall right before the pressure plate Anya pointed out.
Panther_Gunn

"Uh-oh.     Og open door?"

Gremlin

The one that just closed, or the one at the far end of the hall?

Panther_Gunn

oog:  Sorry, more just Og vocalizing his interior monologue for the rest of the party, and seeing if that's what they want him to do, not me asking if he can open it.  Threw an end quote on there to hopefully make it more clear (like I *should* have done the first time).  :)

BentonGrey

The prince gazed hard at the confusing tracks on the ground before him.  Turning to Anya, he gestured to them, "can you make sense of this?" he asked.  "Did our unknown guide pass through the wall?"

While she studied the floor, Dakkon crept along the wall to the other door, giving the room a careful examination.

konbiz

"Aye this does seem ta be a strange building indeed"

Shahzir looks up at the ceiling.

"It be my familiar, he's just a few floors up! We be getting closer. I always knew he'd move up in the world"

After Shahzir sees noone laugh at his terrible joke, he sighs and rejoins the group.

Glitch Girl

Quote from: Shahzir"It be my familiar, he's just a few floors up! We be getting closer. I always new he'd move up in the world"
Anya rolls her eyes.

Quote from: Dakkon"Can you make sense of this?  Did our unknown guide pass through the wall?"

"In a way..." says Anya.  She traces her finger along the edges of the wall where the mortar isn't sealed.  "There's a door here, or something that may open at any rate.  That plate might open it... or it might let loose any number of implements designed to hurt, maim, kill, and so-forth," she adds matter-of-factly.

BentonGrey

OOC: If Dakkon doesn't find anything terribly interesting at the other door, he's going to get everyone to move back while he tests the pressures plate, trusting in his dexterity to save him if it's something unseemly.

Gremlin

Dakkon:
The door at the other end of the hall is simply bolted to the wall.  A few knocks shows there's nothing behind it.  It's a fake.
Lord Elcorion

i start to slowly prowl near one of the doors, likely the one we can through, my right hand glowing faintly with eldritch energy "this is taking to long.. i don't like it. and our captors seem.. odd. they obviously had means to disable a number of fairly competent idividuals, but our restraits were rather poor quality.. there's obviously one or more potent necromancers at work here.. i just don't like it.." the more aggitated i get, the stronger the glow of energy becomes on my fist.

((actually had some time and decided i needed to do a lil bit of actual charecter development since i don't see much practical use for my talents in the immidiate situation))

Gremlin

Dakkon: Shall I take that as you'll try the plate?

BentonGrey

OOC: Whoops, yep, that was my intention.

Gremlin

Cautiously, Dakkon inches towards the plate.  He slowly presses it with his foot.  The thick stone slab sinks a half inch into the ground and a resounding click is heard.

There's silence for a moment, then the sound of grating stones.  Not like earlier, though: these stones are much, much larger.

These stones are the walls perpendicular to the doors.

And they're slowly getting closer and closer to each other.

BentonGrey

OOC: Wait....the I'm a little confused as to what is happening...the two walls are closing on us, a-la the grabage compactor from Star Wars?  That's not good....

"Well....that didn't work..." Dakkon said, as lightly as he could.  He threw a worried glance at Anya, "Any ideas?" he asked, and then turned to the rest of the party.  "Anyone?"

Lord Elcorion

*blasts the door we came through* we get out of the hall

Glitch Girl

Quote"Well....that didn't work..."
"What did I just say about ' hurt, maim, kill, and so-forth'?  Um.. unless we find a switch fast, maybe we ask the big Ogre to force the force that open for us," she says pointing at the seams in the wall again.  She's also looking at the stonework to see if there's anything that looks like it might be a switch, like a candle* or something, espcieally if the spellcaster's magic doesn't open the other door.

OOC:
"Put... ze candle... BECK!"
A no-prize to the person who gets the reference)
Lord Elcorion

OOC: dang that sounds familiar but i just can't place it... argh!

konbiz

"Did I ever tell ye all about me fear of enclosed spaces"

Shahzir begins to sweat furiously.

"If only Izar was here, he'd know what te do"

Shahzir covers his face with his hands and slumps on the ground.

"But me familiar, we were supposed te come in here.... There mus' be a way out"

Shahzir begins to rub his hands across the walls, desperately looking for an exit.

"'Ere! This mus' be the way out mateys. Help me laddos, we can slide the bricks out. Whoever built this place obviously didn't account for a dwarf being ere', let alone a dwarven sorcerer."

Shahzir once again regains his cocky exterior, and chuckles away to himself.

Panther_Gunn

"Why walls move?" *scratch scratch*

  "Og not decide.  Little peoples tell Og what do.  Hold walls or open door.  Hope tell Og quick, it get tight in here."

Gremlin

The girl blasts purple-red energy from her fist and knocks the door off its hinges, flying out into the menagerie.

The rest of you, pouring over the wall, glance over at the sudden lack of door, and proceed through it.
