Orloid can't help but feel a little forgotten in all the ruckus. The majority of his cellmates have found a way of getting themselves free from their chains, but he is still immobile.

"I say, Warlock." he said once, then again in a slightly louder tone "Warlock, there! Would you be able to break these ones off as well? I'm afraid I'm a little useless without being able to move."
OOG: sorry for delays, if you check my last post though, i made sure to blast the chains on both elves, so you're free now as well

Quotei fire an eldritch blast on both of the elves chains freeing everyone who was still stuck, before looking to the other human girl "my powers seem to be more than enough to handle plain steel.. shall i just blast the lock?"

((OOG: My bad, Elcorion. Assume my sentance took place between the freeing of both elves.))

"Thankyou, kind Warlock. The almighty ones will guide you in future."

He composes himself and addresses the party, aware enough of the incoming voices as to keep his voice down.

"If it so need be, I will be able to rid any wounds. Allow no harm to come to me and I will do the same for you, no matter what be the situation.

Orloid will keep a distance behind the rogue as she tries to nick the keys, ready to react to a battle situation with heals where necessary.

Lord Elcorion

you know.. as easily as we freed ourselves from our shackles, i doubt these guards have much experience, particularly with my kind or half-ogres. this might count to an advantage for us.

Gremlin

The ogre strains slightly and quickly snaps a metal bar.  It doesn't pull out of the ground, but it does provide enough room for most of you to get through.  At the sight of this, however, the guard approaching your cell lets out a yelp and runs down the hall, screaming "Help!  Escape!  Escape!"

Shahzir:
Sorcerers have innate magic power; they don't need material components except for the really expensive stuff.  Iron powder for channeling is unneccessary when your own body can complete the spell.
BentonGrey

OOC: What are the guards armed with?

If they are lightly armed, then Dakkon will face them in the corridor, if not, he'll slip into the shadows and let the Ogre hold their attention.

Gremlin

The unconscious one has what looks like chainmail on.  Not fantastic quality, but good enough.  He has that large halberd (long axe/spear weapon) and what looks like a shortsword in a sheath.

Lord Elcorion

i'll ready myself to start blasting guards, keeping an eye out for anything like an armory or equipment closet. "we'll need armor and weapons.. keep an eye open"

Gremlin

The long stone corridor seems vacant, except for the shambling guard.  No closets or armories in sight.

Everyone can climb out of the bars, except for the dwarf and the ogre, who are far too broad.

Panther_Gunn

Og will continue to bend/break the bars until he has enough room to get out.  If the other guard isn't out of sight by then, he may pick up the unconcsious guard & throw him at the fleeing one.

Barring that (no pun intended), he'll retrieve the halberd.

Gremlin

After breaking off another two bars, you finally have enough room to get through, albeit a small amount.  Shahzir can also go through.

The guard is gone by now.  Funny how fast he ran, his mail clanking all about.  The other ones is still there, and still not snoring.

Panther_Gunn

As he is going for the halberd, Og will "accidentally" step on the downed guard's leg.  Hopefully if he's still alive, he won't be in any shape for a pursuit after that.

Gremlin

No response from the guard one way or another.  The halberd is a decent weapon, for a human, but it seems rather flimsy in your hands.

konbiz

"And las' but definately not least, Shahzir comes to assist"

Shahzir walks up to the guard and gives him a kick.

"I doubt this laddo will be getting up again my friends, but I'm sure his armour and weapons will aid us in our cause!"

Glitch Girl

"No doubt," I nod.

I'm going to snag the short sword and check the ballance. I know it's cheap, but at least it's pointy.  Also, I quickly check the dead guard's pockets for anything of note.

"I hope the other guy doesn't come back too soon with friends," I murmur after the fleeing guard.  "...We probably shouldn't stick around but... well, I have no idea where we should go, but staying here is probably a bad idea.

"By the way, my name is Anya, I'm from Delshire, and if any of you know what happened and why I can't remember the last few days, I'd love to hear it."

Lord Elcorion

i'll look around and see where we are.. is there more than one way we can go, or are we at the end of a hall way?

konbiz

"Pleased to meet ya Anya"

Shahzir takes a little bow.

"Aye an armoury would be nice right now, but me other concern is the welfare of me familiar, I can hear him, but it is faint, almos' a whisper"

Quote from: Lord Elcorion on February 23, 2007, 08:39:22 PM
i'll look around and see where we are..

"not that I doubt your skills as a warlock lass, it's just I cannae see this as a wise course of action to split up from eachother, especially with these mysterious cirmcumstances that got us 'ere in the first place"

OOG EDIT: My bad Elcorion it's been a long night hehe. Sorry about that.

Lord Elcorion

OOG: orloid is reep's charecter, mine hasn't given her name just yet. also, she's just glancing about, not actually going anywhere yet

Panther_Gunn

Og's attention is distracted from down the hall to the chattering going on around him.

Shahzir takes a little bow.

.......

Og seems to think for a bit, then his face brightens a little, proud that he's remembered the human custom of "introductions".

"Me am Og.  Og am mercen..... mer...."  The eyes roll upward a bit.  "Og am merc.....    Og squish stuff!  You pay Og!"  A satisfied smile plasters itself across his face, while his right hand reflexively comes up, palm facing upward.

Shahzir is barely able to reach Og's huge hand. He manages to grab ahold and begins to shake hands.

"Nice ta meet you Og me good friend, I be Shahzir. If it be gold ye after, well I'm sure if ye stick with us, we will find many a gold piece laddo"

Gremlin

Anya:
The guard's sword is cheap, and not fantastic, but that doesn't really matter to the kidneys you shove them into, does it?  The simple pockets sewn into the green swaths of fabric covering the guard's mail are empty, except for the key ring.  The ring has seven keys on it, all plain iron.  Each has a character carved into it: 1, 2, 3, 4, M, L, and A.
Shahzir:
Now that you've moved a bit, you can get somewhat more of a sense of your familiar.  He's off in the direction the guard ran.
The hall continues off in both directions.  The way the running guard went goes on for awhile before you lose sight of it in the darkness.  The other direction goes for a bit, then turns.  You can't see where to.  The hall itself is lined with those same thin cells separated by two or three feet of stone.  It is deathly quiet, save for that incessant dripping of water.

konbiz

"I feel the calls of me familiar becoming greater... 'e's in the direction of where tha' guard ran off to"

Shahzir looks up and down the corridor, with a concerned look on his face.

"Now I plan on retrieving me familiar, friends, whether ye join me or not I be going, but the company would be nice"

The drips can still be heard in the background.

"Aye it be a wee bit dark in 'ere"

Shahzir attempts to cast "Dancing Lights"...

BentonGrey

"Hello wayfarers," the blue elf intones, his voice thick with a strange accent, "I am Dakkon Elsdragon, and exile of the Coral Kingdom."  After the dwarven warlock makes his declaration, a cloud descended on the elf's tranquil countenance.  "I am not certain that we should follow the route of our jailer, he is certainly seeking friends," he replied, giving the fallen guard a kick.  As he spoke, he bent down and stripped the chainmail from the guard.  "This isn't the masterwork that I'm used to, but it will have to do," he thinks to himself as he buckles it on.

OOC: If Shahzir insists on going after his familiar, Dakkon will feel indebted to him for freeing him, and will follow him.

Gremlin

With a wave of his hands and some arcane intonation, several glowing spheres suddenly pop into existence in front of the dwarf.  The illumination does not improve the light of the periodic torches lining the wall between the bars.

Dakkon:
The chainmail is uncomfortable and has quite a bit of sweat on it.  It rides far too loosely on you, on account of the discrepency in your weight, and it only comes to your calves.
Reepicheep

"I hope you don't mind my not introducing myself before. I am Orloid, the Cleric."

He scans each party member, none of whom seem to be paying a huge amount of attention.

"Thats right, the Cleric"

Orloid shrugs and continues on.

If any of the ruined bars are of a good enough size, Orloid would take it as use of a polearm - if just to feel something other than chains in his hands. If none of the bars are short enouhg to be wielded, then he will just continue to stay behind the group and heal where necessary, in case the sortie is attacked.

((OOG: The timezone difference between me and the rest of you will make it a little hard for me to keep up. In any case, assume Orloid will be healing where necessary if I'm not around to post.))

Glitch Girl

"Nice to meet you Orloid... Dakkon.  Wish it were under better circumstances."

I take the guard's belt and wrap it around my own wasit a few times and tuck the keys into it.

"As much asI hate to admit it, if the guards went that way, and Shahzir says his familiar is that way, that might be the fastest way out."

BentonGrey

The azure skinned prince gave a curt nod to indicate his assent, "then follow me," was his clipped reply as slipped down the hallway, sticking to the shadows as best he could and moving with the stealth of a cat.

OOC:  I'll go first, and try and use my keen hearing and eyesight to pick up any trouble in our way.

Panther_Gunn

Og confusedly allows the dwarf to shake his hand (or at least a portion of it), as he wasn't really expecting a handshake, but since he wasn't really expecting coins to be placed in his hand, either, at least it doesn't upset him.

Og will follow along behind the blue elf (and whoever else seems to take point), while at the same time, finally attempting to eyeball & size up the rest of the party.

DM:
Og will be looking to see who seems to be the smallest/frailest of the group (not necessarily limited to one), in case violence should break out, by some odd coincidence  ;).
Lord Elcorion

for the moment, i refrain from giving my name, mearly acknoledging my impromptu companions. my trust is not easily given, and these people are complete strangers to me. i'm not hostile though, mearly evasive if anyone tries to question me. "i'd still feel more comfortable with some armor on our backs and weapons in hand. as we are, i fear running into a group of guards may get us quickly returned to our previous predicament... i think it'd be best to find some more equipment before we do anything else."

konbiz

"Aye the lass has a point, now I be confused"

[pause]

"Tha' infernal dripping, but another thing we need to ask ourselves, friends, is how do we know it will be any safer that way?"

Shahzir points in the opposite direction that the guard fled.

"I think these other prisoners may know more than us right now. Maybe questioning them will aid us in our decision?"

Glitch Girl

Quote"Tha' infernal dripping, but another thing we need to ask ourselves, friends, is how do we know it will be any safer that way?"

"We don't," I reply.  "In fact, the only thing I'm sure of is that in here, whereever 'here' is is trouble with a capital 't' which rhymes with 'c' which stands for 'clothes' which is something I hope we find soon."

Quote"I think these other prisoners may know more than us right now. Maybe questioning them will aid us in our decision?"

I look around and listen.  "What other prisioners?  I mean besides us?  What DO you know about this place?" I ask a little suspiciously.
