"Yes.  Clothes good.  Og need pants."

BentonGrey

"Yes, Og deffinetly needs pants," Dakkon hissed under his breath as he picked his way down the corridor.

Orloid picks up a fat iron rod about five feet long, finding it heavy but not terrible.  That's the shortest usable one; the other is about six inches longer, the other a good foot.

Dakkon glides through the shadows silently, despite the chainmail that earlier had made so much noise.  He is difficult to see in the low illumination, even to the other elf and dwarf, innately blessed with the ability to see well in darkness.

The human girl who refuses to give her name glances in nearby cells, but each appears empty.  Well, empty of living things, that is; there are a handful of skeletons scattered about.  And none of you can hear anyone else, only the dripping water.

Dakkon:
The hallway continues on for several hundred more feet before stopping at a single door.  It is large and heavy wood, with iron bars cossing it horizontally.  There's an iron lock and a keyhole on the right (your right).  There is also what looks like a small hole in the door, lined with iron.  There looks to be light beyond it.
BentonGrey

Dakkon crept up to the heavy door, careful to keep out of sight of the peep hole.  Once he reached the portal, he carefully craned his neck to take a seriptitious look through the opening.

OOC: If it's clear-

The prince glanced over his shoulders at his companions, wincing at the sounds of their stealthless apporach.  "Keys?" he whispered demandingly.

Glitch Girl

Um 'scuse me, some of us ARE quiet here. (Got a +11 to move silently)  ;) :P

I quietly catch up with Dakkon and carefully take a look at the lock.  Can I guess which of the keys I have probably fits by just eyeballing it?

BentonGrey

OOC:  Haha, not you, but I'm sure that Ogre is causing enough racket to wake the dead.

Lord Elcorion

i'll keep myself near the half ogre, intending to use his size as covor if we're attacked, while still giving myself a clear view down the hall for a blast if need be.

Gremlin

Dakkon:
There doesn't seem to be anything beyond the door, not from where you are.  You can't see too far beyond it, but you can see it opens to a small room of some sort.  You can see another door, similar to the one you're at now.
Anya:
The keys pretty much look identical.  You're not certain which one fits just at a glance.
Dakkon slipped past the female human, and began to open the door as quietly as possible, wincing at every squeak and groan of the doors heavy iron hinges.  Once it was wide enough, he slipped carefully through, taking stock of the path that lay before him, while motioning the others to stay back until he determined if the coast was clear.

Glitch Girl

ooc: Just out of curiosity, is Dakkon armed with anything?

BentonGrey

OOC: Just my wits, I just figure that with better hearing and a strong stealth ability, I should be scouting for us, plus it's a bit in character for Dakkon to take charge.

Glitch Girl

OOG: I could say something about going into the battle unarmed, but I'll be good.  ;)

Anya taps Dakkon on the shoulder.  She points to the door, herself, then the shortsword she's holding and then gives him a look to say "Is that okay?".

BentonGrey

Dakkon's brow furrowed as he looked at Anya, conflicting emotions playing openly across his azure features.  Finally, his eyes lingering on the sword clutched in her hands, he gave a kurt nod.  She glided past him, but he stayed close behind....

Allowing the stealthy pair a bit more of a lead, Og nudges the other girl close to him (possibly knocking her back a step, if not prepared), and whispers in as low a voice as he can muster:

"Where them go?  That way we go?  They not leave us?", all the while gesticulating & pointing with the halberd in his hand, not really paying attention to where it goes, but far enough from the walls to avoid a stray strike off of them.

(oog:  hey.......Og may resemble that remark  ;))

Dakkon and Anya:
The room you come into is very small, albeit larger than your cell.  There is the door immediately on the far wall and a spiral staircase twirling upwards to the left.  There are a few more torches on the walls, and additional light coming from the upper floors.
Glitch Girl

Is there an opening in the door, like a barred window or anything like that?

If not, I motion to Dakkar, point at him, cup my ear, then point at the door, point to myself,  cup my ear,, then point at the stairs.

Quote"Where them go?  That way we go?  They not leave us?",

I wince and exchange withering looks with Dakkar.

Gremlin

The new door is identical-looking to the one you came through, including the small hole.

"Where them go?  That way we go?  They not leave us?"

"Aye, don't ye worry me rather large friend... they have nay left us, they're jus'...... finding you some new pants me laddo! But ye must try and be a wee bit quieter me friend or else Og will nay get some new pants"

Shahzir gives a playful wink to the still nameless female warlock.

"I be sensing we're getting a wee bit closer to me familiar me friends, thank ye for this I be in your debt"

Glitch Girl

I'm peering up the steps while (hopefully) Dakkar's checking the door.  Do I see anything?

Gremlin

Anya:
Not from the base.  The stairs go too far up for that.  You can see a good bit of light coming down through.

You can hear shuffling up above, and a slight clanking.
Glitch Girl

I wave to the others to get their attention, point up the steps, and mouth the words "Someone's up there," without actually saying it out loud.

BentonGrey

Dakkon nodded in understanding, and motioned Anya over to the door, miming putting a key in the lock.

Og pays close attention, staring at Anya intently.  Then scratches his head.
Turning to the others around him, Og once again attempts to whisper:
"What she say?  Og no hear her.  She find pants?"

(ooc:  assuming someone fills Og in on the the dialog he missed)

Og will start to carefully move into the room (insert exagerated tip-toeing here), taking up a position at the base of the stairs, facing up them, prepared to squish whatever comes down them.

Gremlin

Suddenly, in the area above, you see a flash of green light and hear some bizarre words.  Then, total silence all around.

Shahzir:
While you're paying attention to the stairs, you fail to notice the cold arm wrap around your head from behind you.  The hands, as you see, are in simple leather under-armor garments.  What you can see of the limb is pale with thick green veins pulsing on it.
BentonGrey

OOC: Hmm........Grem, can Dakkon hear this thing's approach?  Also, since he's looking away from the door, could he spot it in time to react?  If so.....

Dakkon's ears twitched at the strange shuffling sound coming from behind the partially opened door, and his sharp eyes caught sight of the ghastly arm as it twined about the unsuspecting Dwarf's neck.  He hissed as he caught his breath with a sharp intake of air, and whispered furiously to their enormous companion standing next to the dwarf, "Og, see to that creature, or there will be no pants."  Considering the matter handled, the prince turned back to Anya, and taking a step closer whispered to her in a calm voice, "we need to keep moving, can you get this door open?"

Glitch Girl

Just out of curiosity do any of the rest of us (particularly those standing close to Shazir) notice this predicament?

If Anya's unaware of what just happened, I nod to Drakkar, go over to the door and try key "4" on the lock, but keep one eye on the stairs and hope there's something useful behind the door... Like an armory.  ;)

If, however Anya does see what just happened, she's going to give his Highness a look of utter disbelief and goes to help Shazir.

Royalty, sheesh...

Gremlin

(Spoilers usually mean nobody else sees it...I was trying to go for something like where he noticed it, then screamed, and everybody else turned around to see it...but oh well ;))

You notice the strange thing gripping his head is a sort of obese figure with a thin stream of dried blood coming down its head.  It lets out a roar and plunges its claws into Shahzir's shoulder.
