Anybody else irritated by 52?

Bad enough it's blatantly contradicted OYL continuity repeatedly, but now they're engaing in character assasination?

I mean really- "Tell me again how being human is so much better than this?". I could buy - barely, that Lex was looking to give himself powers to beat the crap out of Supes with his bare hands- but Lex is the poster boy for "Being human is better than this". He's ranted and raved so many times about how hes done everything hes done and hes "just" a human.

Just irritates me. Waid is failing as a continuity cop.

I'm still digging 52, and could give a crap about OYL continuity. Continuity is basically dead at both Marvel and DC, embrace anti-continuity with both hands! :D

As to Lex...

I've always felt he was the self-promoting poster boy for human achievement only because he wasn't super-human. A megalomaniac like him would sell his grandmother for super-powers, providing it didn't make him beholden to anyone to get them. Most of Lex's common rants about human ability and Superman holding him/us back are excuses in my book; reasons to justify his amoral behaviour, not actual truth.

i think its also quite obvious that lex is losing his mind.... he's been getting ever more insane from week to week. i think this has something to do with fallout from infinite crisis, and all of the villains united stuff, but i'm not sure yet

I'm still enjoying 52 very much.

As for continuity errors, it really isn't an error until the story's actually over. For all we know, what look like continuity errors now could just be plot points.

Don't worry. The old mistakes will be retconned out so the new mistakes can be retconned in. The later retcon will make both moot.
