Check here. And make sure to look through the rest of the thread for Positron's and Castle's comments.

Man do they have to use "loot". Could they not find a better word than that?

I keep getting this itching feeling that I9 is going to make me want to play less than I do now. I never wanted to see loot in this game, and yet here they are using that exact term in the preview for the next expansion. The LRSF for heroes will probably be as stupidly hard as the one for villains, though fortuntaely there aren't really any useless hero AT's, since they all either do good damage or buff, and tanks are built to do what what stone brutes do for the LRSF. Don't care for Hamidon raids either, since they only time I do one now is when I'm bored and see one going on, and it mostly involves me putting Char on hold and reading a book.

Of course without knowing the ease at which recipes and such can be made, nor what a person has to fight to do it, I can't be certain it'll suck. But from what has been said so far, all it is is making level 50's do all the task forces and trials again. Same old crap, just something new and flashy, that may or may not be useful, at the end.

Hopefully they don't follow suit like the 3 last 3 issues and do "graphic improvements". Going from running COH at max settings to having to run both games at low-mid settings is not something that made me happy.

I was hoping to see some power sets revealed -- perhaps that's yet to come.  I think if they don't include at least a couple there will be many disappointed subscribers.  Or maybe, power sets will start trickling in between issues so the devs can focus on each set more.

Shoot, they wouldn't even need to come up with whole new powersets... extending and adapting some of the existing ones to other AT's would be huge.

Why can't we have Regen tanks?  Why can't Scrappers have Super Strength, or Energy Melee?  Why aren't there Radiation Blasters?  Why couldn't Defenders have robot pets, or Cold Domination?  Why can't Controllers have Thermal Radiation?

Sure, there are signature powers and primary/secondary mixes that should be reserved for specific AT's... but extending the existing powersets would be fairly low-hanging fruit that could easily be plucked and would allow for different character concepts that weren't possible before.

For the most part, I agree BB.  I doubt we'll be seeing defenders with pets though.  As I've said before in other threads I'd also like to see the substandard sets getting more oomph (Ice Melee, War Mace, etc.)  Just moving Elec and NRG over from the Brutes would give a lot more options for Tankers.

Technically, weather summoning defenders have pets...

Ah, yes, that's true.  I'll amend my statement to say that I don't think such a thing will be repeated.

That's why I mentioned Defenders having robot pets... there's some precedent, and the buffing/debuffing of pets sort of fits.  If you think of robot pets as 'buffing' a team, that sort of fits too.  You could do it as a Controller, I suppose, but it just felt better to suggest Defenders.

Look, you can make a lot of arguments as to why powersets shouldn't be extended to other AT's, and I'd be willing to bet the Devs will throw up some of those arguments.  But they already do it to some extent (no pun intended).  Some of the Scrapper secondaries match up with Tanker primaries, Blaster primaries look similar to some of the Defender secondaries, Controller secondaries ARE the Defender primaries, etc.

I'm just saying that there's more room for extending the powersets across AT's than they've done so far, and it would be easier to balance them than coming up with entirely new powersets.

Dweomer Knight

I'm not disagreeing.  I'd just be very surprised if we see Defenders with pets past what we already have.  For good or bad, I just don't see the devs going that route.  I could be wrong though...not that it's ever happened before.

Ahem, well its rather moot, but if you want to be technical most of the storm powers are not classified as pets.  Tornado is, i believe the only true pet in the set, the rest are 'summoned entities'.  The difference being mobility.

Uncle Yuan

Tornado is not a pet, although Lightning Storm might be considered one, though it doesn't stick around long and only follows you.

More I9 stuff

The main notable for me is an increase on the trade cap (most likely another digit). The reason's fairly obvious-- I and many others realized the existence of a theoretical loophole in the consignment houses wherein you go on as a level 4, put up an awful Trainer for 3mil, switch to your 50, and buy it. Even with house fees, it's way less painful than trading 60 times through an intermediary. Rather than impose some bulky, arbitrary block on this, they simply opened the gates to let us to it the old fashioned way.

Way to go, devs. Smart and simple fix. :)
