Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!
You have no idea how much I've wanted to get myhands on a good mesh and skin for Rockslide's new design, AMAZING work there .
I have only one question though... WHY NO X-23??? :(
Seriously, she's in New X-Men and has no mesh at the moment and could really do with Podmak-ification.

Did these three about a year ago, unfortunately they're not online anymore, so give me a few days and I'll try to put them up on my site.

Having a Rumpelstiltskin moment? Seriously though, these are amazing skins, even if it isn't the first time i've seen.

Podmark

Um you can't have my babies...ya know when I have some....

Ok, back to skinning stuff. I've started getting some of my old skins online, starting with my Thunderbolts stuff due to a request. I'm having difficulty uploading larger files so it's slow going. You can download the uploaded Tbolts stuff at my site. No new stuff, but if you missed out after the GPL site when offline nows your second chance.

And now a new preview!

Armor and powerless-gun-totting Cyclops (that'll be one easy hero file lol).

Armor is a character that I have a true love/hate relationship with. As a character in Astonishing I really like her, but I dislike her when she appears in New X-Men. I've got this thing about non-native students in New X-Men, same thing applies to the X-23, the Cuckoos, Bling etc. I like them, but I don't like the fact that they take screen time from native New X-Men characters like Hellion, Surge, or Anole. It's kinda silly but there it is.

I once made a list of my five favorite X-Men, and of course Cyclops was on it (the others were Archangel, Nightcrawler, Rachel, and Bishop in case your wondering, no particular order). If I'm not mistaken this is the first time I've skinned him so it's a bit of special moment. I was also a big fan of the leather New X-Men look, so there's another special bit.

Up next will be some updates, and then I'm taking a break from the X-world, I was offered a very cool skinning oppurtunity.

the_ultimate_evil

looking good my friend, glad the mesh worked out for you. i'd maybe work on slims face a bit just to give it a bit more to make it stand out

Gokou

Astonishing Cyclops and Armor looks great. Just add a visor on Cyclops and he will be New X-men Cyke. :D

VERY nice X-23, PM!  I look forward to her being put up on your site!

murs47

You are unstoppable

These look great man! you are the go to guy for x-men skins.

Did you read New X-Men #39 yet?

JKCarrier

Nice job on Armor! I really like her in Astonishing, didn't know she was showing up in other titles too. I wonder if there's a way to 'Skope a force field onto her...?

Yeah the mesh worked great, thanks UE. I'll play with the face a bit, but face editing isn't really my forte.

Well not quite, there was much more to the New X-Men look; pants, shirt. This is just the jacket over blank shirt and pants, with the Astonishing boots and belt.

Yep. Poor Pixie :(

She shows up occasionally in New X-Men, mostly just in group shots of the remaining students. A skope for a forcefield would be very cool, but I can really think of where to start.

the_ultimate_evil

even a something as simple as a bit of a growth or narrowing the eyes would work, from what i've read ( only pick up astonishing TPB) old cycke isnt all there at the mo

Well that's the thing, sometimes he's acting like a crazy person, other times he's normal. Originally I planning to have one side of his mouth slightly curled into a smirk.
Whedon described him as always being either completely in control, or completely out of control.

Peerless1

You know, as a big fan of some of the more classic X-Men, I was happily surprised with the New X-Men.  Rockslide is such a complete moron, but in a funny way.  I especially love when he tries to come on to Lady Mastermind when she comes out of the infirmary in just a sheet.  Your skins look awesome x-tremely uncanny by the way.

detourne_me

More great work brother!   i'm really happy to see these two!

for Armor,  i'm not sure if its possible,  but it could probably be done if you adjust the scene root stuff (?maybe?)  i think you could skope the armor form the Shade the changing man mesh by Valandar onto her...   it looks somewhat similar, and it might even bulk up a bit because of the difference in proportions.    I'd love to take a shot at skoping it on a trial mesh,  but unfortunately im away from my pc for a while.

Podmark

And finally updates:

-Rockslide: added new brows, changed mouth knobs
-Sunfire: fixed waist
-Cyclops: added alphas to jacket, added shade to jacket edges, darkened stubble, added some face details.
-Stryker: added Nimrod hand, added some extra depth to cross, added wrinkles and highlights to scarf-thingy

Let me know what you guys think. If you see anything else that can be improved.

Finding the right hair for Gambit is proving to be difficult. Part of the problem is that parts don't seem to be want to be pasted to the gni mesh I used for Gambit. I think it has to do with the fact that the mesh is french.

If someone wants to skope up an armored Armor, go for it. I'll look forward to the results.

The troubles you're having with the Gambit mesh can easily be overcome by just renaming the necessary nodes before you copy them.

What mesh is Armor on? I'll see if I can whip something up for her armoured form.

Podmark

I might have to send you the Armor mesh, it's a skope of Ink's teen jubilee and hair from Tom's tf_fingers mesh, long_straight1 or 2 I believe.

Well I can try renaming nodes, I really hope that works.

Alphanaut

Renaming the "Scene Root" to "Scène Principale" should do the trick.

Podmark

I actually tried that, but in the opposite direction, renaming "Scène Principale" to "Scene Root". But I'll try again, I might have made a mistake.

BTW send me a PM if you want me to send you the Armor skope.

Ares_God_of_War

I really like the update to rockslide. I cant wait to see it and some of your older skins on your site

BatWing

love the sunfiere you did man

detourne_me

everythings looking really good Podmark!

as for the scene principle thing... i always keep forgetting that the e in scene has an accent as well,   so you need to rename both parts for it to work.
also you may want to look at the parent nodes too,  they may be listed in french as well,

I REALLY like how you've softened the edges of Cyke's jacket with alphas,   it gives the jacket more of a puffy look,   like it was in New X-men.

Actually it's not the alphas thats giving the puffy look. I think it's the shadowing on the outer edge.

For the Alpha's I cut the area directly below the front yellow x, which is how the actual jacket is designed. This allows you to see more of the belt. I'm really happy with it.

Ok guys, since no one else seems to notice anymore problems, I'm going to pack up the finished skins and get them uploaded. I'll let you know once they're up. No Gambit just yet. I still have to finish that one off.

crimsonquill

Pod,

Since you have done such a wonderful job on Stryker (I'm so wanting to reinact the New X-Men battle in the Danger Room as well) do you plan on making a skin/hex for his followers too - The Purifiers (the robe wearing guys with big guns and techno stuff wired into their heads)?

- CrimsonQuill

AfghanAnt

Beautiful work Pod. I can't wait to see Armor's armored form.

Actually yeah, I'm not when I'll get to them, but I really want to put some together. The assassin Risman for sure, and probably the girl with the knife who stabbed Frost, then random guys with different faces. Once I get the base costume done it should be pretty easy to do a bunch, I just need to decide on the base mesh. BTW the Purifers are returning in Messiah Complex.

Thanks AA. Alphanaut has sent me a new nif for Armor so I'm going so hopefully I can get the armored form looking good.

Podmark

Available now at Podmark's FF skin site Rockslide! Cyclops! Sunfire! and Stryker!

I think my upload problems are related to my firewall. I had to turn it off to get Stryker up after having trouble getting Rockslide up. I'll have to check the settings.

No herofiles at this time, I'm not really up and running in my hero file development yet since my computer crashes. If anyone wants power info just ask, I know all about these guys.
