Those are looking good, very good.....can't wait to see what you come up with for Cannonball. I'm a big fan of his new uniform.

Podmark

Det is the Longshot eye star shaped? Cable's current eye is just a simple blue glow, not star shaped.

Northstar is on the vxnorthstar mesh...kinda. The actual visible body is the normal vxmale, vx ears and ink's kyle hair. The original body is hidden because it has had pointy ears and the wrong kind of hair, all one piece. Northstar's current look doesn't have the pointy ears for some reason.

Finally sat down and worked on Armor. Here's what I've got.

Let me know what you guys think. I really love this skope btw.

murs47

That looks good, nice skin too

But I do have one question. Is the "Armor" always visible, or does it just appear on certain animation?

The armor is always on. My suggestion for creating a hero file would probably be to create a FFX shapeshifting setup for her. I will be releasing both the armor and no armor versions.

ARMOR IS SO COOL!

man thats sweet!

as for the longshot eye fx.. its just an alpha-enabled plane i think.  so if you design the tga as a kind of alpha-y blurry thing,  it might look like its just pure energy smoldering

what fo you have in mind for an aurora skope?  i could whip one up for you to save time.

Dr.Volt

Armor is FANTASTIC, Pod!  I really like how the force field effect turned out!!  Very nice work!  I can't wait till she is released!

Well like I said in the skoping thread I'm looking for something with speedster animations, a running streak and flight streak if possible. Body would probably be the vx female (no heels) and I think I'd prefer Tommy's hair_long_wavy (same hair I used for X-23). That's all I think. Hope it works out. Really I just want a companion mesh to go with vxnorthstar.

Podmark

Armor and Tempo have been released.

:o Podmark that Armor skope is a killer. very nice job on her.

sweeten2213

Very nice job on Armor, Pod   That must have a tough one, and you certainly pulled it off.  I'll also be taking her off my getting up to date thread.

Actually Armor wasn't all that tough. The costume design is virtually Kitty Pryde's so I took a look at C6's and AA's skins to see how they handled the mapping so that sped things up considerably. The armor was added by Alphanaut (take a bow Alpha, huge HUGE thanks to Alphanaut!) and I mostly just coloured that in blue, theres some highlight to it but that's about it. Still I'm very happy with how it turned out.

Probably the wrong place to post this but I can't find the other thread where you recommended Invincible.

I went and picked up the Volume. 1 hardcover.....and wow! just a pure joy to read.
What the heck was I thinking ignoring this book for so long?
I'll be running to my local comic shop today to pick up the second volume, maybe even the third.

I think you might like the Kirkman's Ant-Man series. Totally different main character, but still great characterization and a good, fun read as well. Issue 10 just came out, but I guess the series is being canceled after issue 12, not much to catch up on.

Awesome I love when people realize the awesomeness of Invincible!

I've always had an interest in Antman but never managed to pick it up. I was really sad to hear it got cancelled. I should pick up some back issues or a trade, see what if I like it.

BTW always feel free to talk comics in this thread, especially if they relate to skins I've done, past or present.

Most memorable moment for me was when Mark threw out the garbage in issue 1 and finally gained his powers.....and it finally lands in London in issue 5 or 6 I believe! I was literally laughing out loud. It's all the small things that make this book rock.

As for Ant-Man, he's a character that you love to hate......If he was a real person and I met him, I'd probably punch him in the face for good measure. But for some reason I just have to see what happens next, I'm left wanting more after every issue. I really don't understand the cancellation of the series. After Captain America and New X-Men, this is my favorite title.

I don't think the book was selling enough. I read an interview with Kirkman about it and he said something that really is true. The further away a book is from the main stuff (Avengers, X-Men etc), and the big events (Civil War etc) the harder it is for the book to sell. Antman is pretty far, he's a new character with very limited connections to the rest of the Marvel U and the book barely effects the rest of the universe and that makes it harder for people to find the cash for it. Still I've heard nothing but good things about the book and I've liked everything I've read from Kirkman (his Ultimate X-Men was kinda wonky though).

Armor is an astonishing and you beat me to Cable. Are you planning on redoing Cannonball to have crazy hair, tooth pick, and metal rivets on his costume.

Hmm never thought of adding a toothpick...I wonder where I can find one.

Yeah currently I'm thinking of giving the current Cannonball the Kyle Raynor hair or maybe something from the Speedball meshes. The collar with the metal rivets is probably coming from Syn's Morph.

Podmark

AA got me motivated again so here's a WIP:

The skin is my M-Day Cannonball from last summer with no alterations, this is really just a skope preview. The skope isn't necessarily finished. I'd like to look for proper boots, I might adjust the collar, there's a possibility I'll change the hair, I've got a couple ideas of how to add a toothpick. The base mesh is Syn's very awesome Nova mesh. I'm hoping to do a series of Cannonball skopes to depict his various diferent costumes.

murs47

damn.....that is sweet. One of my favorite X-Men, and that cannonball effect is pretty cool too. Good stuff Pod, can't wait to play with that one.

murs47

Forgot to mention, I went out today and got all the trades and issues up to 43 for Invincible, I got some catching up to do, but I think this might be one of the best comics out there. In a matter of a days it has become one of my favorite books of all time. Now that's saying something. Thanks for pointing this book out and recommending it to me.

sweeten2213

I have the last skin you did for cannonball, but I'll be looking forward to seeing the new version.

Blkcasanova247

Great job with the skope Pod! It's great that you're gonna skin the other costumes because I seriously "detest" the new costume which you on the other side you did a great skin of. :) Go figure.

Podmark

Actually the new costume is one of my favorites, but I seem to love everything Bachelo creates these days so go figure.

I want to make skopes for just about everything he's worn, but I probably won't skin them all. I will do updates for my old Cannonball skins though. That's the current one, his X-Force v2 look, First X-Men, Reload, New Mutants, and the B&G costume.

Good for you, man!  You won't be sorry.  It's Kirkman at his best writing!

Yeah, I'm in love with his Ant-Man series, and Invincible is just 10x better.....it's like I've been living under a rock the whole time or something
