How about silver age x-men and their foes?  That would be very cool.

Previsionary

speaking of X-foes, I would love if you (or anyone for that matter) could skin the costumes of the rarely used foes such as Unus and Vanisher (and his several costumes). I think that was one of the major problems I had with my OG X-men mod. *shrugs* just a suggestion.

Podmark

I actually have Unus on a to skin list somewhere, but my skinning time is very limited so I probably won't be getting to him anytime soon.

One thing with my skinning is I generally try to follow 3 rules: 1) The character hasn't been done before, 2) If it has my version brings something new to the table (ie newer mesh etc), 3) or I just really want to skin the character or I'm doing a set that it fits in. The vast majority of silver age characters have been done by other skinners so I tend to do newer characters and costumes.

The Purifiers is likely to be done by Murs rather than me.

Podmark

Ok guys I've got some bad news. Some of you may remember that I've had computer problems for the past year. A quick summary: my good computer went down with an unknown problem that I was never able to figure out, and now my current computer, an almost decade old machine with fan problems has died. So I no longer have a computer, and I currently don't have the funds to fix them or get a new machine. As an additional problem I'm fairly sure I knocked out my hard drive in the process, meaning I've lost all my psds and files. So it looks like this is the end of my skinning career.

I had a good run. I don't have my records to check but I finished over 200 skins and learned alot about graphics in the process. Maybe in the future when money isn't so tight I'll be able to return, but I'm not sure when that will be.

I'd like to thank a few people in particular; Unsung Weezer especially for designing my av, Afghan Ant esp for our collaborations, Next Legend for being a good friend, Ultimate Evil esp for helping me find my most recent hosting, Matrix esp for our collaborations, Paradox for his base, Murs for turning this thread into an odd hybrid of skins and discussion, and of course C6 for being a constant inspiration. Also those who have hosted my work, Hellscorp and Death_head (I think that was his name been a long time) at Villains Reborn, Volt and ElectricFreedom for considering me as a memeber, Nightdragon and Dragon Force, Randy, Mike and everyone at the GPL. Also the many meshers who've taken my requests or I've worked with; Beyonder, Texas Jack, Bobby69/Vertex, Tommyboy, Renegade. I'm sure I'm missing some people. And of course those of you who have taken the time to check out my skins.

It's been fun,
Pod

Tomato

Hey man, whatever happens, don't get discouraged. Life is a funny thing, sometimes strange things happen.

I'm not saying goodbye though. I've seen too many people give up or say they aren't coming back into it (like C6 ) and we always pull those suckers back in somehow. We'll do the same to you, just watch

Mystik

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

murs47

Wait a minute. You're still going to be around here posting and stuff, right?

Oh thank God!  ^_^
Still sucks to see you "retire" skinning though. I'm gonna miss posting in here. :(
Hopefully your computer loss won't be problematic for school.

the_ultimate_evil

shame your hanging up the boots mate. but you have to do what you feel is right. hope it works out for you

Outcast

It's really sad about what happened to your computer Podmark. I can only imagine what it would be like to lose all that work/collection you had. Don't lose hope.  :(

Courtnall6

Very sorry to hear about this Pod. You've come along way in those 200+ skins.

I don't recall saying I would never skin again...I said semi-retirement.

Aha, I was right...again. *face palms tomato*

Anyway, sorry to hear about this sir Pod, but it saddens me that we won't get to see any more awesome skins from you.

And yet, I say, 'tis not too late to have a whip-round or set up a "Save Podmark's Skinning" fund.  'Tis true what the advertisements say: a little in abundance is a lot.  Who's with me? :)

That's ok OTS I can't ask anyone to do that for me.

TAP43

I am sorry to see you stop skinning, but have a feeling that some how you will find a way when you get that skinnig bug again as so many have other have before. I hope that it's sooner than latter and you have a stroke of luck to get back on your feet again or your computers feet if that makes sense <_<. And I am glad hear you are still going to be hanging around.

juancho

whatever is you decide i sincerely hope is the best for the future POD

And i know we will be seeing more of you anyday, sooner or later

AfghanAnt

I feel like a donkey's butt for jumping on the bandwagon but I know how you feel. I've got a lot going on right now and I wish you all the best Pod. It has been a honor to work with you in the past.

The Hitman

Pod, dude, your skins were some of the best. Good luck with the computer issues, and let's hope this is more of the "extended vacation" kind of retirement from skinning than the "buying the house in Florida" kind of retirement.

Renegade

I'm retiring.

From reading retirement threads! :(

It's too depressing!

But thanks for everything Podster.

tommyboy

Mark, sorry to see you cease skinning, you've done some great work, for which, thanks.

Jakew

Hey Pod, sucks to see you retire but thanks for all your Marvel stuff .... as a big fan of Thunderbolts, finding out that you'd nailed all those characters was great. Also, the really interesting stuff you managed to release for the X-Men, which looked great in FF, actually got me interested in the X Universe again!

Good luck with your future interests and may your first child be a masculine one.

Um ok. But I got no problem if it isn't.

Not another one!  Well Pod, thanks for all the excellent stuff you've created man, and good luck in your future endeavors.  I hope you won't be offended when I say that I hope you wander back this way again some day, as your work will be missed. :D

Certainly not. If not for my current problems I'd gladly skin again.
