Boomer Request

Hey

Would anybody be interested in creating the namesake of my avatar picture and one of my favourite current comics characters
, Captain Boomerang II.
The mesh of the original Captain Boomerang (George Harkness) by Crusader/Saracen has always been one of my favourites and I think it is now time for Owen to make his entrance on my hard drive.

Well never fear the insperation is still here. But the skinning has to wait for a day off from work.  Maybe Wednesday. But just so you can see some progress here is how the skin looks on the actual mesh.

Hey DM the scarf is fine. But I was wondering if maybe he shouldn't have some kind of jacket collar as well?

Hey Looking good so far... so some pointers.

Like kssaints said, a collar since he is waring a jacket.
Don't know how the scarf looks in-game but maby a little wider, it looks kind of slim.
Maby add some boomerangs to his jacket on his lower right side like in the pics.
As for skinning, a darker collar for his jacket and black gloves, blue pants are good but black boots instead of shoes.
Like I said, a little darker clothes but the scarf is the right colour (It's all about the scarf :))
And nice touch with the tiny boomerang buttons on the sleeves, did you see that in supergirl recently?

I just love this character, so I hope these pointers help

Hey DM when you get the collar on send it to me and I'll finish skinning. Triviaman I kind of had a sneaking suspission you may be a big fan of Boomer. Considering your avatar pic there. LOL AS far as the skin goes. He's not actually skinned with shoes. They are boots. Perhaps the effect you are getting is because of the schin guards. I'll see what I can do. I can add the gloves easily and I can make it a little darker. But I also don't want to lose the little bit of detail that shows it is actually clothing. As soon as I get an update from DM I'll go ahead and finish it up.

Well here it is with gloves. I did an example the first one A has a darker jacket. B I left the lighter color I started with. So let me know which one you all prefer. Then I'll get together with DM about the release of it.

the boomerang keyframes from grenadiers boomerang.  check the master mesh list to find the location of that mesh

just wanted to say that this hex is truly awesome -- the hair, the scarf...just amazing work, guys.

i like the new Boomer, too, so i followed this thread pretty closely, and it's just an awesome piece of work.

Well yay for me, found the kf's but there is something wrong with the model because in-game there
is a white thing always floating in front of the character.
When the level starts there is nothing there but after throwing my first boomerang it appears.

Hey Triviaman, that's not the mesh, it's actually an FX bug.  Here's what you do, go to your data/art/library/fx/generic folder, and delete 'start' nif from all of your boomerang fx.  That should solve the problem.
