My thoughts on The Sentry

I was thinking about what exactly did the serum do to Robert Reynolds when he drank it. The serum was to be superior to the one Steve Rogers took. When Rogers took his serum, his body was transformed into perfection. He became as strong, fast and agile as humanly possible without being superhuman.

When Reynolds took his serum, his body was transformed to physical perfection too, but the transformation was much more than muscle and sinew. Reynolds's body was changed on the molecular level; each atom was stepping ahead of the current timeline.

I wondered what really does each atom stepping ahead of the current timeline mean. If the serum that Steve Rogers took made him as physically perfect as a human can be, then Reynolds's serum made this go even farther, much farther. Reynold's atoms were pushed into the final stage of human evolution. I likened this to the Designate in the Thor comics.

Reynolds's psychic abilities have increased to god-like status and he doesn't even really realize it. His powers of super strength, super speed, invulnerability and such are the result of his elevated psychic mind/body connection that can give him the ability to do what ever he can think of. He became this capped hero The Sentry because in his mind that is what a hero looks like to him. The Void was created for the same reason.

The fact that he suffers from a mental illness makes him all the more interesting. It will be interesting to see him work through his challenges.

I'd just like to point out that there is no "final stage" of evolution... unless you count the "stage" just before the species becomes extinct.
Evolution just doesn't work that way.

Well there is no such thing as Norse gods either. We are after all talking about comic books right? I remember in a Star Trek episode where Q tells Picard that humans will eventually evolve into god-like beings that surpass his own people's ascension.

I was simply theorizing that the Sentry/Void is the result of the ultimate human ascension into the highest form of being.

My thoughts on the sentry with his whole atoms thing is that they simply work by different rules due to their crazy time/space position. In other words the movements of his body are uncontested... he easily punches through just about anything and flies and endures all kinds of attacks. In other words his body does pretty much watever he wants, while not losing its phisical integrity. His villain version is the same but with the stops pulled out, shape shifting and all that.
