I love em

I'm glad. If you want I can give Zion a crack too. I really like your avatar and more than willing to help with the development.

Hey Afghan, remember how I said I'd fix those Reflect and Glow layers for you for Thor Reborn's mesh a while back? Well...

(Layer colors just to show reflectiveness only.)

Let it be said that I always come through on a deal, allbeit a little late. Check your e- mail. The "character.nif" should be there.

The Hitman

Yeah, I know. It was just to show that I fixed the refl layer.

Well here is Bizzaro Returns (based on Bizzaro's recent appearance in Action Comics and the Superman Returns costume (I'm a big fan of that costume)) and Thor (whose costume I messed earlier and redid once I saw some of the new images) redid the little parts and actually added his strap on the right side.
I've got a Powergirl reimagine coming (no point to a Supergirl and a Powergirl) and a few others.

Thanks to Alphanaut for hexing the keyframes on the Bizzaro mesh.

Podmark

I saw those images as well, and wondered if you'd update Thor. Good (and timely) work!

murs47

oh yeah! those look great  I love the realistic rendering you've applied to Thor's Mjoliner.

 :o

Thats awesome!!!!!
The Thor costume is starting to grow on me, thanks in part to your skinning work here..
And Bizarro looks really rad.  The texturing on him looks just right.  I think subtlety goes a long way and it works alot better than over-doing it.  His face looks great, the same thing with the texture there.   The hair you got would look great on a Brandon Routh Superman..  Is this the Bizarro that appears in the SR video game?

One crit, something that just caught my eye that maybe wouldn't make much of a difference.  On Thor's chainmail, I think the scale of the links on his arms looks smaller than that of the legs. Its probably the way the mesh is mapped that makes the texture on his legs look larger.  In the graphics editor its probably all the same scale.  Can you make the links on his legs a little bit smaller?  If its an in-game purpose skin, then don't worry about it... Im just in a rare nitpicking mood  ^_^ Otherwise they look terrific!

And I agree with murs47 on the hammer. excellent texturing!

I actually used a different (but very similar hair) for Superman but that is the feel I was going for, maybe I will nifskope this hair onto that mesh...
As for Thor, the chainmail is all the same size and you are correct about the mapping, I'll shrink it down a bit before final release if I can (I think I may have flattened the layer). It is just an in-game purpose skin though, I thought all skins were for in-game...but that's me.

I realized I skin characters or costume I want to play as either because I love them or no one has done them. You will never see me do a Spider-man or Venom (well maybe the new costume with the rad scorpion's tail) or normal costume Supes. They have been done to death and I think those new, old and obscure characters are what keeps me playing. In fact, I'm going to go play against Bizzaro now. :)

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Alphanaut

Wow, those are some intense skins! Especially the Bizzaro. What really sells me on it is the tattered cape. I don't know exactly what about, but it just screams "I'ma Crazy!" I wanna try these guys out! Can't wait to pit Supes against Bizzaro.

"Movie-style" Bizarro... Sweet. I don't know if it is the angle but... I wouldn't use this hair for regular Supes. Something seems off about it, that works for Bizarro, but I wouldn't want to see on Superman. I think maybe it's a bit too... big or something. I don't know how to explain my feelings inside! But it looks cool. Are you... are you doing the lizard keyframe trick I saw done in the hexing forum by somebody? If so... awesome and I cannot wait to get it.

And Thor? Thor looks cool. I don't exactly recall the older version but I think I liked that costume more. Actually, I just saw another slightly different version of this new costume. You would think they would make some character sheets or something when they redesign a major player like this, to pass around. Geez louize!

The one thing about the skin bugging me, and I'm sure you toyed with it, is the warping disks on top. I totally hate it when things warp weird. Sometimes I'll let it slide, but occasionally I'll go buck wild. It'll end up looking all over the place when you look at the skin flat, but in 3D it will work. Still, that sort of thing is just so frustrating. I would probably mess with them a bit more, though. Looking at it, you might have to cut the disks in half, at a 45 degree angle, and shrink the top half even more... I mean, assuming you want to go to the trouble.

Mystik

I get back from vacation and find a new thor skin .  YAY

Ares_God_of_War

I really like the bizarro. I think that would be an interesting villian for the next superman returns if he were to look similar to yours.

SingleMalt

A question about the return of Thor, is he smaller now? Your Thor looks amazing but he seems smaller, like a junior Thor. Isn't Thor supposed to be a large man? What mesh did you use for your Thor?

AfghanAnt

He is the same height as Ren's Sentry mesh because that was the base mesh and the other parts were nifskoped on.

captmorgan72

Oh what a shame, your incredible skin needed to be on Beyonder's Thor mesh not The Sentry mesh. Unless I am missing something and Thor has become smaller in his return. Seriously though, your skin looks great but it would have been sooooo sweet if it was on Beyonder's Thor mesh.

Uhhh...the Thor and Sentry meshes are about the same in size, also Beyonder's Thor  didn't have the pieces to attain the look which Copiel designed for Thor's redesign. I think you may be confused by the preview pick but Thor and Bizzaro are very tall compared to male_basic meshes.

captmorgan72

Yep, scrap what I said  I downloaded your first release of Thor and compared it to Beyonder's Thor and they are about the same size. Beyonder's Thor is a little more bulky but that's about it. Anyway I took your first Thor release for a spin in the rumble room and man what a thing of beauty! You nailed his face and costume perfectly...outstanding work!

Actually I didn't nail the costume which is why I redid him but thanks.

So, this is a bit late, but good work AA!  I agree on the Captain -- I love the ears.  Very nice skins (as usual).

Lunarman

Wow I just noticed Thor's hammer. That texture is amazing!!

Well here is the preview for my World War Hulk skin. I just wanted you guys to know I am still active and trying to skin some things but I'm working for a video game company now by the name of turbosquid.com/ where I do marketing for GameFlood which is the Mods content for the company. If any of you guys are interested in first-person shooters such as Half-Life, Unreal, and Quake you should check out our site.

Anyway getting back to me, I've been busy with Hulk here and Madman (which is almost done I just need light a fire under my @$$ to finish him).
So on my short list of things to complete:
World War Hulk
Madman
Wonder Woman

Also, I'll be releasing Pupae, Bizarro, and Thor soon. I have them sitting on my desktop and I just need to finish him.

Podmark

That's a great start on Hulk AA. The only thing I can say is that he doesn't really look all that angry, Looks more calm actually.

Anyway good to see your still skinning.

murs47

That's a great start, and I agree with Pod, he looks rather calm. It's probably just the mouth, once you give him the "feral" mouth, he should look more angry. The eyes and eyebrows looks great....really good hue of green as well. Looking forward to this one.

AfghanAnt

I'm still working on World War Hulk, The Hood, Wonder Woman (current) and a bunch of other half finished skins but before I finish any of them I wanted to help Pod complete the X-Men. Mike Carey has finally made the X-Men a wild ride without over complicating love-triangles or rehashing old plots.

Well here is Rogue. I think I might make her a little more angry as she seems to be a lot more forceful than previously (due to Sunfire's persona?) It is a newly skoped mesh (all parts are Ink's), BlackCasanova will be adding El Diablo's fiery fxs to her hands for the finishing touches.
I think Podmark and I will be switching back and further through the characters and doing some together as well. I think this will be a lot of fun like our Deadly Genesis Team-Up.
Oh here is the list to come:
Cannonball (new skin and skoped mesh), Cable (skoped mesh), Lady Mastermind (new skoped mesh), Mystique(new skoped mesh), Omega Sentinel (both forms) and Sabertooth (skoped mesh).

Previsionary

As Ips has said, that is truly a great looking skin. Her eyes really stick out, imo, and she does seem like she would kick butt if provoked. Anyways, keep up the great work.

Deaths Jester

Looking nice, AA.  However, I'd consider adding some shading on her shoulders where the cape falls over it.  That way ye have a little more realistic look and the green from the cape doesn't smear into the rest of the costume.  Just an idea though.

Podmark

As usual Ant your work is always awesome. The skope came out great, but I think you should look into adding some gloves. I found the gloves on Ink's Jubilee were nice.

The only other suggestion I've got is to maybe darken the green, I don't recall it being so bright.

Great job and it's going to be alot of fun working with you put together this great X-team.
