Those are two great skins AA, when do you plan on releasing them?

Nice job, but I think speed's goggles should be a little bit more connected to the mask. Other than that I think its great.

The goggles aren't connected to the mask at all.
Yeah your right. My bad. I haven't read the comic in so long.

So here is the completely finalized Coipel correct Thor. I really have to thank everyone involved with the production of this skin/skoped mesh:
Style, Detourne_Me, and BlackCasanova247 for working on the skope, Beyonder, Gren, Tommy, Ren, and Ink for the amazing pieces from which there could be no whole, and C-6 for helping with mapping.

I just need to do readmes for Thor, Wiccan and Speed and they are going to post on my site.

Now that I see "Goldielocks" all done I can say it again....Amazing skin AA! Really just....great, great work!

Why thank you. For some reason, I've become completely obsessed with Thor since I saw that first drawing by Coipel and JMS is really creating a compelling story.

Changed the strap. I forgot I alpha'ed it out.

Yeah it's a great design change for Thor, and now I've got two excellent versions to play around with in the rumble room. Great job everyone that was involved and very slick skin AA

Oh god, please delete the old one. I really hated the face and the armor work on that one.

This was an quicky warm skin I wanted to do. It is a redesign by Joe Carroll of DC's Powergirl. I saw it over at Project Rooftop and fell in love with it.
For her face, I thought alien, supermodel look and I think I nailed it.

There is a Supergirl coming too. I really wanted to show how opposite they could be. So what I reimagined with this design was Powergirl is sort of like Galatea with the origin (vat grown clone and answer to the superhuman problem) but a lot more friendly and for lack of a better word "All-American". She's that feisty girl with a mouth but lovable (Buttercup from Powerpuff Girls).

For Supergirl (coming soon), she was raised on another world. She shouldn't look like she belongs here and she shouldn't think much of the people here. Yeah, she's a hero but only in the sort when people choose not to step on bugs but rather escort them outside of your home. She has to fight the urge to not think of these humans as pest. She will be vacant, silent, and prefer to stay off the ground. She's also extremely will versed in sciences that Clark has never known or could even understand. Kara would be arrogant and harbor a hatred for Clark for pretending to be human.

I wanted to stay with the theme of the Superman movies mythos; Kara comes to Earth to find the only other Kryptonian, met with hostility by the natives, decided to fight back (during this time Superman is off-planet trying to locate what he believe is a part of Krypton (which is actually Argo City) and can't stop her. The military does it's best to hold her off, obtain some of her DNA with help with Lex Luthor's kryptonite and clones a Powergirl (who is physically more mature than Supergirl) to ensure they have a weapon of their own. Etc, etc...blah blah you get the hint.

So when you finally see the Supergirl skin, she won't be SuperParis or even the classic concept but some vague and early Post-Crisis Kryptonian but enjoy the Powergirl preview.

Edit: Started Kara's face:
Really wanted high fashion meets beautiful alien female.

This is funny.....not the skins (which is toally cool), just the timing. I'm just finishing up my Supergirl drawing and skope and just for fun started a Powergirl..heh.

murs47

So that Powergirl was just quick practice? That's incredible! The alien make-up looks cool. I know Kara's eye color is blue but since this is a custom skin why don't you change them to green or another color so that they stand out more. They seem to get lost in the blue eye shadow.

I can't wait. I hope you and Rev are working together because I love the treatment he is giving your redesigns.

Yeah, her costume has always been so simple and as much as I love Geoff's explanation for the boob window (she has been waiting for something meaningful to fill it), I've always thought it would impractical and could lead to some serious wardrobe malfunction during a fight.

You might be right about the blue eye shadow, as cool as I think it is from avant garde fashion point-of-view, it may be too much for her eyes and her blue jumpsuit costume. Maybe I'll use this face as default for her gray Kryptonian costume (similar to Clark's in Superman Returns cutscenes).

Blkcasanova247

Yep Rev is gonna skin her. Wow...that just sounds a little violent.

aa i love pg's face. looks awesome. i'm not even sure what to narrow it down to. crispness richness of colour ... not sure. but it's great.

on the other hand. iam not feeling kara's face preview. i love the lips technically but it seems too starwars and i don't like the eye decalling ... it doesn't add to her beauty... go alien but make her an attractive alien. part of the problem i think is the mapping with ink's female faces... the heads themselves have been pulled to be more elongated giving everything placed on it a sorta donkey look compared to how the skin actually appears... anyhow that's my .02

I honestly understand how it could look Star Wars but I don't think that is necessarily bad thing, considering Star Wars is debatable the biggest influence on modern science fiction. As for the makeup, it wasn't suppose to add to her beauty it was simply something I saw in an avant garde fashion show and when I sat down to start this skin I thought "hey, I think that is different and I haven't seen any skins inspired but  fashion". So yeah, it's an alternate a more classic look I developed.

As for the mapping on the face, I don't mind it so much. There are ways to get around facial detail if not the general shape of the face.

So after finishing this skin up (finally) I went ahead and did a Superman Returns version of Kara's movie costume. Once I get my hands on Ren's Mr Terrific mesh, I can add one of the spheres as the omegahedron that lead Kara to Earth in the first place. It is interesting that in the movie, the device gave Faye Dunnaway magically powers which in order to fit into this reimagined Superman movies mythos would translates into science that is so advanced it appears as magic. Whereas, I want to show it as a weapon for Kara. I'll stop rambling about Supergirl stuff now...anyway, I was waiting to finish this skin to upload all the stuff I've actually finished recently and try to crank out so more work while I'm focused.

I'm really digging the new Powergirl and Supergirl.   love the alien-ness found in both of them.
I really like how your skinning has progresses.   and developping the Superman Returns characters, its making me want to create my own AAUniverse of hero files :)

i'm really looking forward to Thor too!  are you going to release a version with the strap skinned on him too?   I actually preferred it to the hexed bit....

Blkcasanova247

Yes...Very nice indeed!  I'm totally in love with the one piece uniform look...and I especially love the texture. The T-Sphere will be a nice touch. I'll send you that Mr. Terrific mesh if you haven't gotten it already. How do you feel about using the skirt from Ink's Marvel Girl2(Rachel Grey) mesh instead of skinning it on? That's what I did for my Supergirl hex.

AfghanAnt

Thanks guys! I'm glad you like them.

Well here is something a little more playful:

I'm not sure if I'll finish Mario or even gex a Luigi but it is likely.

murs47

 :o

murs47 = speechless

and Mario  that's just great, brought a smile to my face and many fond childhood memories.

I was also gonna mention the marvel girl mesh for the skirt, I use it 4 my miss martian and supergirl

Great work, AA! I don't think I've ever seen that Kara's face in a skin before, and it came out pretty nice for me. Quite unique, something I appreciate greatly in skins, it allows to identify the creation with its creator. Which is similar to what happens in Comics: Kirby, Jim Lee, Madureira, Larroca or Wieringo (just to name a few that crossed my mind right now) each have their own style, even though they sometimes have drawn the same characters...

And well, that Mario is quite alright! Keep it up
