...but it would be neat to see people skin themselves.

Where is that afro mesh?
And I'll need some cowboy boots...

Very cool, AA.
Keep'em coming, your work is downright inspirational these days

Really great work on the faces, man....I'm not sure thougha bout the shirt of the one on the left...the neon "splatter" and fabric seems a bit off around the plexus/abdomen area.

That is something I would like to see.

It's suppose to be a zip-up hoodie and I believe you are referring to the pocket. I actually forgot the zipper in that picture and I think it would make sense of that area a little better.

Figure Fan

This is a really cool idea. I used a rudimentary photoskin of my face on my avatar, but that was 3 years ago and it never really looked like me anyway. Haha!

I'm curious. Does your avatar name reflect your nationality, or is that just the character's nationality? If you don't want to share, that's ok. I've never really understood your avatar's name, so I thought I'd ask.

Neither. Afghan Ant was just a couple of words I put together like 7 years ago and thought it sounded cool and it stuck. I'm actually an Afro-Brazilian Jewish American (I know a mouthful) but American usually does the trick. So the "Afghan" part of Afghan Ant has nothing to do with me ethnically.

The Hitman

I've actually half- done a "real life" skin... maybe I'll finish that ups someitme...

Anydangway, just wanted to pop in and say GREAT JOB on the whole lot of these skins, man! I don't usually post much on these topics, but, dang, your skins just blow me away!

Podmark

Neat skin idea. Nice to put a face to a disembodied text :D

UnkoMan

The bottom of the pants look like they haven't actually been skinned on. It's a bit jarring. But on the other hand... the actual geometry looks sweet. What is that from?

As for self skins, I've often considered just doing a skin of myself, but thought it make come off as egotistical. Plus, as stated, who would want to play with that?

But yeah, cool looking. The face is great. Everything else is very nice too. I paticularly like the wrist band. Very nice. This better be available for download.

AfghanAnt

Unko, yeah I'm going to go back and add some more details to make it not looks so flat on the bottom of the pants.
Anyway, here are a few things I did over the weekend:

Left to Right:

Raijin's avatar. I played with the idea that the man is host of Raijin and the cloud surrounding him is Fuijin. I used Rev's Red Tornado with the extras turned off to get the storm cloud, the whirlwind, the lightning, and I changed the debris to sakura blossoms.

Adam Warlock. I know I did the skin for BlackCasanova's hex but I wasn't thrilled with the way it came out so after reading Guardians of the Galaxy, I skoped a new Adam Warlock together and skinned him. I satisfied but something is still off in the eyes for me.

Afghan Ant. Well after being purged of the Catastrophe Bug, Ant found himself being chased by the HIVE to reclaim the hyper-bands. In battle, Nox rips his arm off and takes one of the bands back to begin training the new guardian (Carlo Cricket). Afghan Ant is saved by Halal and her band of rebels and is given a new energy arm that can morph into a cannon. Now, with his new arm he swears that HIVE will never have both bands in their possession again. It is funny because I had originally thought Carlo would be taught by Afghan Ant but then I decided it would be more interesting if Nox was in charge of his training (essentially making this innocent young boy into a killer like himself). I'm thinking of adding a scarf or short cloak like Halal to reflect his rebel persona. There is one more form of Afghan Ant that needs to be skinned. I think of him now as four different periods: the hero, the villain, the rebel, and the peacemaker. The design I have for the peacemaker aspect of Afghan Ant was actually created a long time ago and was on my old hard drive. I was never happy with the final product, so I scraped it. With Nifskope I get to make this highly evolved and messiah-like Afghan Ant I've always wanted to make.

Lunarman

Wow, nice work on all of them. But it's very to see Raijin get such a nice avatar.

Podmark

Great work on all three but I most interested in the rebel you. You seem to have some cool ideas surrounding your avatar, I'd love to see them translated to a mod one day.

You've totally been making me look bad lately, I need to find some time to skin soon.

Hey AA you Gotta incorporate Cas, Detourn_me, and myself into your world. Maybe as the rebel's team. :(

Figure Fan

I really, really like Raijin's avatar design and concept. It's..wonderfully colorful.

The head on the alternate AA is really cool, too.

I need to skin again..

You three have helped me a lot or you just might see yourselves being thrust into my world soon. :)

Thanks everyone, I actually ended up doing some more detailing to AA and will try to get these up on Hero Force tonight.

UnkoMan

AA does indeed look really cool, but I can't wait for the next version. Knowing you, it's going to be awesome. You give your costumes all these minute details that I never even think to bothr with, and your assymetrical sense of style is great.

Raijin ended up looking really sweet. I kept thinking I should do a nice avatar of his (his last design was along my simpler styles), but it wouldn't be able to top this one. I'm sure it looks even better seeing the storm swirl.

Adam Warlock, though... Good, but some things bother me a little. Those seams around the lightning bolts and etc end up looking really flat without any shading. Obviously you don't want them to blend into the other parts, but if you shade them on their own I think they could still stand out, and have a bit more depth. The eyes might just be that there isn't enough darkness underneith them or something. I'd have to take a closer look. The beard seems a little weird to me, too. Granted, that sort of beard is odd anyhow.

Arilou Laleelay

Nice bright colors and awesome costume designs! AA's arm looks very cool too.

You have a nice collection of great looking heroes on Hero Force, Afghan Ant.

I find it amazing that in the relatively short amount of time that I've been around, I've seen many modelers&skinners increase in skill tremendously.

What can be said that hasn't already been said? Your skins have a look and feel to them that is unique. Your imagination and attention to detail is amazing.

So I did all of Dodson's costumes for Donna Troy because frankly she has been abused for years (whether by character assassination or murder). She really is the unsung heroine of the 80's and I was actually excited when I saw her in full-armor as Wonder Woman. It made sense and I'm actually said to see it go so soon. I hate the current red star/dark jumpsuit. Well from left to right: Donna as Wonder Woman, her starfield Wonder Woman costume from a Final Crisis preview, and her classic red jumpsuit. Don't be surprise if she shows up with different hair before release...

Podmark

Those look great AA. I'm not really a fan of the character, haven't read enough with her, but I liked it when I heard she'd became the new Wonder Woman. Did seem too short.

AA, the hair looks fabulous as is - I can't wait to see how you intend to improve on it.

Blkcasanova247

I definitley agree with you there AA...Donna Troy is the unsung heroine of the 80's. If I had my way her transition to being Wonder Woman would have been permanent. ;) As usual fantastic skins.

Jakew

Great stuff ... I particularly like the one with the sword.

I'm like Podmark, i've never been a DC fanatic, but i know the character and i think it's well done. Specially i like shoulders from the first.

Mybe, you could add bracelettes or something like that.

Kaede

Xenolith

I like the red jump suit.  Thats my favorite teen titans era.  nice job.
