The Hitman

You guys are right. The writing, although not blurred, was being distorted by the mesh a little, the hood was a totally different color, and the shadow was a little much. Guess I just needed a fresh look at this one. I fixed what I could (now that the hood's darker, it doesn't look like there's a divide between hood and head, but I swear, there is one!) and made a few more changes (blue- er jeans, black tennis shoes) I think it's an improvement.

Unless there's a real blatent problem with this one that I need to fix, I think it's gonna be uploaded to my Yahoo Group tonight. Thanks again, guys!

Looks nice. I was planning on doing one for him too. You evil mind reader. you stole my idea :P

But seriously, it looks good. I'm sure Style will love it.

EDIT: forgot to say how I love you using converse in every skin. Shoes are hard

Heh, thanks everyone. In an attempt to answer everone-

- The Hitman is, essentially, a cross of Captain Atom, Ambush Bug, Deadpool, and Weird Al Yankovic. He's a former human energy being encased in a blue liquid- metal shell. He's a metahuman- for- hire, is self- aware that he's a fictional character, uses his favorite blaster "Lil' Zappy" and owns "Anti- Gravity Socks," which allows him to fly, and is an all- around lunatic.

- Backstory's not on the wiki... yet. I'll get around to it when I'm more motivated.

STYLE: The ULTIMATE Fan!! Skoped out of Irrational's Thug2, Gren's Taskmaster (Hood), Tommy's various _TV (Sleeve Cuffs), and Texas Jack's Male_Shoulder_Holster (Base/Pants). Whaddya think?

Very interesting back story for HM!  Very inventive!  I love the blasters name!  I've been wanting to ask that for awhile...but just keep forgetting.

It's cool, but the hood doesn't match with the shirt, maybe a little highlight would fix it up?

Humble Guy

Hey Hitman,

Just stopping by to say I like your snazzy new outfit.   It reminds me of a certain alter-ego of mine.  ;)

All the best,

Dave

The Hitman

Thanks for the replies, guys. Hey Dave! Thanks! And I'm glad to see you're still enjoying that Prism Pilgrim skin! Cool!

Ok, so I've been really busy, and subsequently haven't had much time in the way of skinning, or, mor accurately, releasing said skins. And thanks in no small part to Dr. Volt's curtious reminders that I still skin, I'm gonna fix that. By next week, I should have these uploaded to my Yahoo Group:

- The Tick (new skope and skin)
- Arthur (skope and skin)
- The Terror (skope and skin)
- Captain Planet (previously previewed)
- Captain Pollution (same as above)
- Howard the Duck (skope and skin)

And, by the end of the month, I'll have these up:

- Dinosaur Neil (still need to finish skin)
- Buzzboy (need to finish)
- a Power Ranger (maybe)

Oh, and I did this little guy:

His name's G- Man. He's a creation of artist Chris Giarrusso. You may know him from his work with the Mini- Marvels comic strip. If not, check it out here (and in the back of various Power Pack comics):
http://www.chrisgcomics.com/

Let me know what you think! Any feedback is good feedback, so don't hold back!

detourne_me

wow!  Incredible news!!!
Tick, Arthur, Howard the Duck and more!!!

oh yeah, and Captain Planet!
I'm really looking forward to getting these guys.
Thanks for sticking with it Hitman!

Hey Sam,

I've had some health problems the last six months or so, had to take a break from life as a superhero.  I hope you were protecting the innocent in my absence.  Thanks again for the skin!  Prism Pilgrim is alive and well, and I'm back to work on the comic book for fun.  By any chance, do you know of any male basic skins that will serve as my character in civilian clothes?  A tee shirt, jacket, or anything plain that I could just change the coloring on occasion.  It's hard to keep coming up with plot devices to keep him in his costume forever.  Glad to hear you're still alive and well and skinning.

All the best,
Dave

The Hitman

Dave-

Sorry to hear about your health issues, but I'm glad that you're doing better. If by "protecting the innocent" you mean "hanging out at The Waffle Hut," then yeah, I've been protecting the innocent...

Funny thing you've started posting here again- I've been updating some of my older skins now that I, y'know, can skin, and Prism Pilgrim was the first one done. I think I have a pic around here *starts digging through computer*

I added actual goggles and a belt, and updated the skin a little. I also picked a new keyframe set, you'd be suprised how much that changed it. If you like it, I'll upload the new one this week, as well. I might even add some multi- colored lightning FX or maybe an aura.

If you can wait a little bit, I might have what you're looking for, for a basic civilian...

Thanks for the posts, guys. Now... back to work for me!

Humble Guy

In my opinion, The Waffle Hut couldn't be in better hands! Re: Prism Pilgrim; I love the belt and the hands look a lot more natural. Did you change the shading? That looks better as well. I'm not sure about the goggles, but I'll reserve judgment until I see the effect animated. So to answer your question, you bet I want the updated version of the skin!  I'm doing the comic with a combination of Comic Book Creator and Photo Draw for background and effects. The writing is complete for a three-issue story arc, but the storyboard artwork is incomplete because of Joshua Rhodes' wardrobe issues as I mentioned. Opps, I just exposed PP's secret identity! Oh well, it will keep him on his toes being exposed.  As you can probably tell, I'm pretty patent. This character and story has been rolling around my head for along time, thirty years I think.  So I can definitely wait a little longer for his civilian duds. Again, I appreciate your generosity in bringing Prism Pilgrim to life.  My wife thinks I'm crazy with all this, but she says it's a nice kind of crazy.  After all, we all need a brake from real life now and again.  Thanks Sam.

I'm not familiar with G-Man...but I like the work on this skin none the less.  Nice work!

And OF COURSE, I likes me some Tick (and his villains)...AND am thrilled about Buzzboy still being on the work list!

Humble Guy

Hi Sam,

I just wanted to let you know that I found the civilian skins I need for the Prism Pilgrim comic I'm working on. Looking forward to seeing the new version of PP. Thanks again.

The Hitman

Hey everyone. How are you? Are you sitting down? Really? Good. Because I have some bad news.

I recently bought an external hard drive specifically to store my meshes and such. About two weeks ago, I moved all of my stuff to the HD. Everything seemed fine. Good times were had by all.

This evening, I went to check on a few meshes slated for release (Arthur, Howard the Duck, and Captain Planet), and, low an behold, the .nif files are ALL screwed up. I thought, "OK, no prob, I'll just redo them, no big deal, I have all the parts right here." Well, no I didn't. Every mesh (excluding Male_Suit_V2, oddly enough) are fried. Gone. Finished. Ka- Put. And so on.

I'm so dang frustrated right now, I can barely think. I... I... I don't know what to do. There was so much stuff that I was near completion on, I just can't stand it. I'm about to conceid defeat, delete everything, and start over. I'm not happy about that. Not at all.

So, should I try to post some stuff and hope that it's just my machine, or just scrap it and start over. Your choice. I... I just don't care enough right now.

UnkoMan

External hard drives are a tricky beast, best not used as the main storage device for anything. I learned that myself, recently.

It is quite frustrating, though. I would hate to lose all the meshes I've collected over the years, even though most of them lay untouched in my FF1 folder. But with work you were doing it's even worse.

But, hey... at least it's not a kitten.

daglob

When something like this happens to me I go to someone who knows more about it than I do. Fortunately I know a a couple of people: my brother and a very good friend of 20 years standing. They can both make computers roll over and their backs and beg to have their bellies rubbed (quite a sight, believe me). Then there is the guy I used to work with who responds with something like "How many pieces is the hard drive in? GREAT! Gather 'em up and bring 'em over. Man! gonna have some fun tonight!"

These people are not unique (no, really), if you think a minute (and you may already have, now that the initial shock has worn off), you probably know someone similar. If not, I bet a friend does.

I'd suggest always back up on CD, but I lost a disk of VX meshes and I don't know what else when the CD went bad-the silver inside the disk turned gray. The VX meshes were, fortunately, readily available.

This is not to say they aren't dead and gone, but just don't give up hope... yet.

Heh, yeah... I'm in IT. That's why I'm so frusterated.

Dr.Volt

Oh no!  That does sound distressing and frustrating!  My advice:  Don't scrap your original work!!  There may well be a way to recover them!  It would be a shame to have to go to all that work again.  My guess is that you'll figure out some solution.  Hang in there!

The Hitman

Good news, everyone! Turns out my copy of NifSkope was corrupted, so I just redownloaded it. Works like a charm.  I didn't lose anything afterall!

Dr.Volt

Huzzah!!!!!  Good news indeed!!!  Great to hear it!

The Hitman

Hey guys. Here's a quick update. Will get the older skins on as soo as I find them.

Tonight, I will have HeroDad1's avatar up on the site. Laters!

Dr.Volt

UnkoMan

Ha ha! He certainly does look heroic... And huuuuuuge!

The Hitman

Whew... dusty...

Howdy all! Just wanted to let the 3 (an exageration, I know. It's probably like... 5 1/2) of you that follow this thread know that new stuffs is on the horizon. I finally got around to re- installing FF on my new compy, and that was enough to inspire me to start skinning again, so be on the lookout for more avatars, obscure heroes, Mexican Luchadors, "Egg- cellent" 1960's Batman TV series villians, and year- old requests to be made. And maybe even uploaded!

Huzzah!

Klauser

Great news!  Really looking forward to some more "hits".

And I'm sure the other 2 guys that follow this forum will be jazzed too!

:P

Dr.Volt

I'm one of the few and the proud!  Sweeeeeeeet!
