Hey guys, I finally have a little something extra, and I went to order my copy of HB 2...but when I entered in my info, it told me that y'all aren't shipping to my area at this time. (I'm in central Illinois) What's up?

So I'm not sure what to tell you. It might be your retailer just doesn't want to order the book for whatever reason. Some are funny like that with indy titles.

Oh! Weird. I don't know why that would happen. I do all the shipping myself and I'm in Illinois.

I have plenty on hand at home.

Although, if you could order them from your shop I would appreciate it.

The more we sell through Diamond, the more happy they are to keep a small fry like us around.

Then that will be the test; I re-ordered in more than enough time for my local comics shop to get issue #2 for me. However, I'm picking up my comics tomorrow, so I'll have to call them Thursday to find out if they got it.

Okay, I've been talking to some retailers and here's what I think has happened with some people not getting their copies of HB.

Two possible explanations.

1. You copy may have reached the shop damaged. Diamond still counts that book order as being filled.

2. You or your retailer didn't place your order within the timeframe of the initial purchase order from Diamond.

When Diamond tells me the book is still available for order they are giving me a half truth: It's still available for back order and is not considered in-stock even though I can get copies to them anytime.

So they'll take the new order and hold onto it until a decent number comes in and then send me another purchase order.

Most retailers won't do back orders on small indy books because chances are that it will be a long time before that purchase order is sent, if ever.

It sucks but there's not much I can do about it.

I'll still be selling issues directly so the book will always be available. I guess just keep on your retailer to make sure they order the book in time whenever it is solicited. #4 is being solicited now.

Yeah, we'll have the new issues available on our site a few weeks after they are released in stores. Both in hard copies and digital format.
