A general issue I'm having with FFX

Hi, I lurk, for years, yea >_>

But anyway, I've been having this odd problem since the orignal FFX for the first game and I was wondering if someone has a fix for it.

I think I'm missing something, but the rumble room, whenever a character spawns that wasn't originally taken into the game (through the hero selection screen or enemy selection screen), ie. anyone who gets into the game through some FFX related means (shapeshifter, summoner, etc.) ends up with messed up damage stats. For example a character with a beam attack that does 20 in his first form, only does 7 with it on a different form. For whatever reason everything shapeshfited or summoned ends up weaker. It has nothing to do with the difficulty the game is set too from what I tried before.

Any ideas?

wow that is wierd. I've never heard of that happening before. And even weirder it's not a melee attack you use as an example 'cos that would be affect by strength. Does the first form have light speed attribute and the others don't?

I can tell you are using a custom character. If the old posts were up, I could point you to a more detailed discussion of it, but here's the summary...

This is a known issue. There is a game bug in how custom characters are spawned. Basically, the game spawns custom characters spawned from their HERO files (and not from the 'custom_template' templates the game generates) as if their powers were bought at level zero.

The only way I know to get around this is to create the character as a built-in (using FFEdit) and use that as the shapshifted/whatevered form.

I figured built in would be the only way out.

So if anyone could, would someone mind directing me to some sort of tutorials how to create fully functional built in characters with FFEdit or perhaps give a short explanation?
