 I am a huge fan of table-top gaming. I have been doing it since I was 13 years old. I have played everything from Classic Marvel to Cosmic Enforcers which is my favorite right now.  :D

I was wondering if any of you had any gaming stories you wanted to share that where just crazy. Like how your hero defeat some bad guy or how they died.

I'll get us started;

It was a few nights ago we where gaming. My cousin had made a hero called "Hot Stuff" who could control fire and ice. Well they had just finished defeating the villians and my character had tied them up with sticky goop.  Yes my character is loosly based on Spider-man. Well one villian had just been kicking the crap out of Hot Stuff all night so my cousin took action against the defenseless villian.

She rolled to create a ice spike then jammed it up Blaster's backside. Everyone in the room was like "WTF" and my cousin said he deserved it. Needless to say her character was brought up on charges for abusing there prisoners. :o

Anyone else have a story to tell or questions?

Well, I've been writing one for awhile. I've got some great moments:
1)A villainous character kidnaps Paris Hilton. After he defeat a NPC hero and gets his ransom, he sends a cooler full of ice back to Hilton's handler. Inside the coller is Paris' shaved, bodiless head with a note that says "Thanks for your donation. Here's mine."
2)A neutral guy "Dr Wyvern" decides the quickest way to get the supers-hunting organization out of town is to blow up the dam. He mcgyvers a bomb and blows up the dam upriver.
3)When one of my players DMed for me I was playing a ghost archer, the only hero in a racetrack full of heavily armed goons in choppers. As they rappel down, I phase the ground, making them sink to the core of the earth.
4)When a player who just wanted to kick butt without reading my rules sat at the table, it was right after my normal group had stopped a supers breakout. The character "Eternal Specter" got ticked at the new guy and passed me a note saying "I'll duplicate him and mind-control him into thinking he's the clone." In my game, clones take one hit and vanish. So he succeeded in the duplication and mind control, and then punched the new guy. New guy's character keels over in the fetal position and pretty much stops breathing.
Despite complaints from the player, I went ahead with it.

  That's awesome..kinda harsh..wow!
1)What kinda of systems have you played?
2) Has there been any truely awesome characters in your game?
3) Has a PC ever kicked the crap out of a mainstream character(ie. Hulk, Spider-man, Superman..etc) :banghead:

Sword

Well, I've played FATE system once or twice, HERO system twice and I'm looking into picking up Spirit of the Century and Wild Talents.

However, all the elements above came from my own system, Twilight Corps, which is playing right now here in posting games for five people, and at rpg.net for one.
Mainstream beatings? No. I've had tribute characters for everything from Obsidian to Ultraman, but there haven't been any actual mainstream characters in my games.

Glitch Girl

Mutants and Masterminds here primarily.

Too many stories to tell, but a few notable quotes (use your imagination).

- "No you can't deep fat fry the midget!"
- "The Eldorado Liberator orders you to..." [realizes that there's no fight to break up] "...to ...to Have a nice day!"
- "Why does the road to justice always have the shoulder closed due to construction."
- "You don't have a proficiency in Dessert Cart." "Maybe he's a diabetic."
- "We detcted a transdimensional transportation in this area." "This is the suburbs, we aren't zoned for that."
- "I give him a look like he's not much of a man." "He's not much of anything. He's a brain in a jar!"
- "I'm going to Hell....On Pluto!"
- "It could be Osama Bin Laden behind that mask handing me a McAnthrax burger."

And the whole disguising themselves as a Canadian Supervillain group is a chapter unto itself.

Im working (VERY SLOWLY) on a superhero card game with more emphasis on having a large range of power and heroic and villanous deeds (cards allow you to do heroic feats or rob banks or put civilians in peril fueling your characters). A few more things of note are "Secret Origin" (Character stats without powers) and "power" (tack it on to any character) cards. In case you ever wondered what it would be like if Tony Stark (Genious, Wealthy) took on the Mantle of the Bat or if James Howlett (regen, bone claws, clever) was trained by the hand (mysticism, martial arts, stealth, etc). If I ever get past the design fase (which I am savoring) it would be released as printable "collectable" cards using markers and D6's.

As for past hero gaming it was mostly the marvel superheroes game, where I ran 2 or 3 campaigns. I did secret wars 2 (Beyonder on earth), Something involving the High Evolutionare and then some totally custom games. Highlights:

"I magneto shall stop juggernaut... let me just throw this propane truck at him. Ok... he's still standing yet a dozen civilians just died... you heroes wouldent turn me in would you?"

"Who would of thought that alien needed his helmet to survive on earth... hey, this dosent count as murder does it?!"

"A building made out of gold?! Karma, Shwarma!"

"Dude, you've got Venom AND thor on your team? Do you even read comics?!"

"Ok, beyonder tries to seduce one of your female characters offering her great powers... and NO you and I are not about to roleplay that!"

Primeguardian616

 :thumbup:Hahahaha

The Beyonder is so funny at times.

Me right now I'm playing Cosmic Enforcers. I have written-up a few characters from marvel, freedom force, and dc into my campaigns. Mostly my games take place in modern earth but with superhumans throughout history.

I have written up Minuteman,Bullet(NPC's), and the Ant(my character) so far and even used a controlled Bullet against one of my PC's.

I'll write more later if you guys have any questions?  :spoiler:

I love pen and paper rpg's.  Unfortunately, trying to get a hold of anything that isn't D&D around here is pretty iffy.  I played Marvel and DC in the early days, went to Champions/Hero System for a looong time.  I've played Mutants and Masterminds once or twice and the old Villains and Vigilantes too.  Tried the Palladium system but didn't really care for it.  Same for Aberrant, Silver Age Sentinels and GURPS Supers.

What else is there (supers wise) and who makes them?  I've never even heard of Cosmic Enforcers, Wild Talents, or Spirit of the Century.

DK

(made a super for the short-lived Dream Park rpg but that's multi/cross genre so I don't really count that)

BentonGrey

I've never played anything like this, but I have to say that y'all have peaked my interest.  If anyone starts a play-by-post Marvel, DC, or FF RPG around here, I'd deffinetly be interested.

Cosmic Enforcers is a sci-fi superhero RPG. It takes place in a world of 2020. Back in 1991 a race of aliens known as the Drakha attacked earth so we tried to fight them off.

We almost lost the war but for a miracle. Two soldiers had been exposed to these called Quatum Gates, basically big wormholes, which gave them superpowers. They called themselves Judge Justice(Superman) and Willforce(Phoenix). Will Willforce single handly defeated the aliens and sent them back to where ever they came from. From the ashes of this broken world came a one world goverment called Earth Central and aliens from other worlds started coming to earth and so on and so forth.

Basically my take is I mixed a little form the pallidum Heroes Unlimited game with Cosmic Enforcers. I sent my game in modern time in my home state, Iowa. The different archtypes are Heroes(superpowers), Mages(magic, duh?), Cyber-Tech(cybernetic implants), Greymen(super-soldiers,Captain America/Wolverine), and Genesis Knights(government or company supported "Iron Men").

The system is a very easy one all you need is 1D20 and some D6's, I have played alot of systems and this is one of the best I think.

So far I'm started a new campaign this Saturday with my group.

My character is the Mighty Goo, the mask marvel of mucus
My brother-in-law is playing a greymen/ninja called "Quill"
My friend Ryan is playing a star highschool footplayer turned hero "Nitro"
My cousin is playing a former priest turned cyber-tech viligante called "Samson". :banghead:
I have two other players but they haven't made there characters yet.

I would really like to hear if you guys have any ideas for missions you want to share or maybe ones you guys have done? Any amazing characters that you or your players have made?

For Wild Talents. Supposed to be a quick tristat  hero game. They've got some interesting characters there. such as "The Streak". he can move at mach 50, but only when naked.

That's for spirit of the century which is geared more towards pulp hero adventures.

Primeguardian616

 Saturday went well for gaming. I'll update the roster of characters and powers.

  • The Mighty Goo - Climb up walls, shoot organic acids, gases, and sticky sprays, aswell as shapechanging his body.

Hardcore - A former cage fighter turned cyber-tech

  • Cyber - Electric Manipulation and resistance to bash and blast damage

  • Mr. Smith - Chinese Teacher at Drake while being a superfast chamelon.

  • Robert Orion - A game's mage works as a libraian at Drake.

  • Castor Troy AKA Quill - A superhot ninja in a little blue suit

Anyway I started out the night just letting the group get to know there characters. Then I threw three Sentinels at the group, one downtown, one out in the western part, and one right by the college.

Hardcore single-handedly pulled a Juggernaut and ripped one of the Sentinel's legs off. I was like

After that Cyber went to a bank heist in progress. There where two criminals inside;  Blaster and the Rhino. Goo was fighting Blaster when Cyber showed up. Blaster got blasted by Cyber and Goo tied him up in fly papper spray.

:ff:

Rhino busted out of the bank vault and attacked Cyber missing twice charging, he grabbed a near by cop car. Cops opened fire almost hitting the heroes and doing no damage to the villian's armored hides.  :banghead:

Rhino took a baseball swing with the car and missed then just slammed the car down on Cyber, crushing him to the street stunning him and leaving him at the mercy of Rhino. Who by the way wasn't happy because Cyber kept shocking him in the face.

Goo attempted to help but I failed my roll to activated my fly paper spray.

Rhino was knocked-out by a energy blast from Pulsar(NPC's).

There is one down..any questions? :D

If the archives ever get back up I ran a play by post super game using FUDGE rules on the Posting Games thread.

Chracter's consisted of just three "Attributes" - two minor, one major, of which their super power could not be their major.  Attributes were short descriptive paragraphs that outlined a set of skills and abilites.  From these three attributes I could infer just about any stat needed to resolve conflicts.  You'll have to ask the players how they thought it went, but I really liked running it.

BentonGrey

If you ever want to start that back up, I'm in!

Kind of you to say so, BG.  But I'll need to come up with a slightly better format - the last game got very hard for me to update since the long story-telling passages took a long time to write.  A better format and a tighter story line.  And no board outtages - the second one pretty much did the game in, I'm afraid.

Primeguardian616

 I all for a by-post rpg. I have been part of tons of them.
